"As I was leaving the grounds with my guide dog, a teacher ran him over with his Ute. The school was dismissive and tried to cover it up, this is unacceptable. The school also refused to pay his vet bills."
"My boy goes to Darwin Middle School. We came from QLD and my boy started DMS from Term 4 last year. I have to say that DMS is terrible. My husband and I heard good things about DMS online and moved into the catchment so that my boy could go to DMS. It seems that DMS has a limited number of special classes for each grade. I don’t know how many there are but I guess there are 1-2 classes for each year (not sure). There are about 9 classes in each year. In my opinion, DMS only puts effort into those students in the special classes. If people think DMS is successful and doing well, I think it is because of the sacrifices of all other students who go to the normal classes. They don’t get any attention from teachers. I am so disappointed about that. This year, I got a call from the assistant principal saying that my boy bullied other student. My husband and I were shocked and contacted the principal and assistant principal asking if we could see them. We thought it was serious and we wanted to apologize to the student and his parents whom my boy bullied. We received no reply from the principal or assistant principal. They don’t seem to care if students are bullied or not. We used to send our boys to a Catholic school when we were in QLD. When problems arises, the principal, assistant principal, and class teacher used to pay attention to the problems at least. DMS doesn’t do anything. I am so unhappy that some students in the special class are successful because my boy gets no proper education and attention from school. I want to raise my voice. I recommend all the parents to raise their voice."
"Best middle school in darwin, Mr Dixon told us that we have 4 brains and we're connected with lizards. Also please bring back mr simpson, he was a cool teacher. And thank you mr dixon for putting up a dead tree in the middle of thr courtyard, it really brings character into the school grounds."
"This school does not address the bullying that occurs, and will actively deny it, even after the said bullies, then break into the child's house they are bullying, then assault the mother when she tried to ask them to vacate the private property in a 30minute sustained attack leaving her with a broken finger, chunks of hair removed, cuts and abrasions. They then let the children who committed this crime to still attend school whilst the bullies are posting social media stating that they are proud to have used violence and will continue to do so, no suspension, no expulsion. This is absolutely disgusting behavior the school apparently condones!"
