Formerly known as Helping Hands and Access Therapy Services, Apricus Health combines our expertise and experience to offer a robust and holistic allied health service. With a combined 25 years of serving the region, we are deeply rooted in the local community.

Our team of expert therapists specializes in upper limb and hand therapy, as well as the use of assistive technologies to enhance lives. Whether you are a child, young adult, older adult, or someone with a disability or in need of upper limb rehabilitation, we are here to provide the care you deserve.

Our multidisciplinary clinical team works collaboratively to develop streamlined therapy plans and achieve the best outcomes for our clients. With a strong network of organizations, specialists, and GPs, we ensure a robust referral pathway.

To make therapy accessible and hassle-free, our therapists can come to you. We offer flexible therapy environments in your home, school, business, or through telehealth services. Additionally, we have five well-equipped clinics conveniently located across Townsville, Ingham, and Ayr, as well as an extensive outreach program.

At Apricus Health, you do not need a doctor's referral to see one of our Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists. However, patients with consultations paid for by a Third Party, such as Plan Managed NDIS, Defence, WorkCover, or DVA, require a referral.

If you believe your child may benefit from Occupational Therapy, there is no need to come into a clinic. Our services can easily be accessed in the comfort of your home, school, or through Telehealth. We offer equipment prescription, home modifications, goal setting and planning, accessibility assessments, environmental assessments, and one-on-one supports.

When attending a Hand Therapy appointment, please bring any relevant x-rays, scans, and tests, your health fund card, workers compensation medical certificate and claim number if applicable, referral letter (if you have one), and any musical instruments or work/hobby/sports equipment that may be contributing to your condition.

If you are in need of a splint, it is essential to make an appointment. Apricus Health stocks a wide variety of thumb, wrist, and elbow braces, as well as custom thermoplastic splints. Our therapists will formally assess your condition, provide education and exercises to aid in your recovery, and provide time frames for wearing the splint or orthoses.
