"Serving size a but stingy IMO Otherwise ok. Staff delightful!"
"Some food is hit and miss, but overall it's a nice place to go sit and have a drink, enjoy the breezes, and listen to live music"
"We found Malcoms place after we found our air bnb was nothing like the description and cancelled it. Luckily he had space. Very nice to deal with, apartment was clean and had everything you need. Couple of very minor points though; internet wasn't the best not that we cared as we were out all day and the top floor washing machine bangs on the wall/floor which is annoying but it's not all the time. Malcolm recommend some good eats/coffee places all of which were on the money. I recommend joining The boat club for $5 then you get 10% discount on your food/drinks and $15 meals on a Monday. The best coffee in my opinion is Yorkys cafe, Tim runs it, great brekky too. There's also the hidden cafe down the road which is also good. I've had coffee downstairs in the ten 06 cafe and contrary to other reviews it did not have ants in.....it's always lively but doesn't intrude into the apartment and the food is ok. Overall very good noting the minor points mentioned, definitely a good spot to base out of. Enjoy."
"One of the worst experiences ive ever had at a cafe before. First of all, upon entry, the owner was sitting on his camp chair watching TV, i first thought the place was closed but it turned out it wasnt. I ordered two simple coffees for a nice walk on the beach, and paid $9 for them both, which was a fair price. Upon recieving the coffees, my partner noticed she had several ants running around her coffee cup. I walked back in and showed him the problem and asked for another one to be made, as we thought they might've crawled inside the coffee. He was shocked and went on to make a second one. I then recieved the second coffee and before even taking it, i saw ants again!! I said to him "theres still ants mate!", he replied "its just chocolate", i then replied laughing "they're crawling!" The owner then placed his glasses on and realised, then opened the coffee lid and started scooping them out. He gave it back to me and said "its fine, they arent a problem, you could eat 1000's of them and not notice". I took the coffees and walked away because i didnt want to make a bigger scene out of it, then proceeded to throw them in the nearest bin. Recommend avoiding this place, ive seen other reviews before mine and it shows the place is terrible."
"This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We were treated like second class citizens by staff. These people were the rudest hotel staff I have ever met and we have travelled to many hotels, world wide. We were made to feel very uncomfortable and basically looked down upon and scolded like children simply because we were smoking in area that unbeknownst to us was not permitted. Instead of explaining civilly that smoking was not allowed, Malcom (Owner)got quite angry and made it clear he had no tolerance for smokers by the various demeaning things he said...Anyway, the prohibiting of smoking was NOT the main issue ( although I do personally think it's rude to charge $2000 a week and expect your guests to go across the road to smoke) The main issue I had was Malcolm's treatment of us. I felt so uncomfortable after his confrontation that I demanded a refund but they (him and Anna) repeatedly refused to give one, which meant we spent the rest of the holiday1/ Avoiding the Owners 2/ Stressing about another confrontation occurring 3/Generally feeling uncomfortable They ruined our holiday."
