"We were staying at the Amaroo as a last-minute getaway and decided to try the restaurant instead of driving around the island for a place to eat, and weren't we pleasantly surprised. Food was tasty and delicious, and we decided to eat there every night so we could eat our way through the menu. Highly recommended – plenty for kids and all tastes."
"Absolutely love the food! The service was amazing. Highly recommend this amazing place!!"
"We really enjoyed our dinner up the garden path. Great food. Andrew's steak was cooked perfectly, as was the coral trout I ordered – moist and tasty. The entrees of prawn three ways were prepared, presented, and cooked magnificently with crisp sweet potato chips. The waiter was friendly and made us feel relaxed with just enough service. Highly recommended."
Whether you're looking for a memorable dining experience, a venue for your special occasion, or simply a place to enjoy a cocktail on the balcony while taking in the stunning views, Up The Garden Path Restaurant & Bar is the perfect choice. Don't miss out – come and join us today!

"Friendly staff, easy breezy original 70’s low key resort vibe. Very basic offerings for food and drinks, old school cocktails. We hoped for Simple but yummy food, but were disappointed. 3 of us sent our meals back unfortunately, sour pad Thai, lot’s of fish sauce and nothing like any Pad Thai any of us had ever had. Singapore noodles swimming in a pretty awful sauce. We were cheerily refunded which was good. The steak was ok, but fatty, the kids nuggets seemed pretty average looked spongy not chicken breast. This was perhaps not the right choice for us on our last night. I can’t recommend Down The Garden Park unfortunately."
"Recently we went up and ate at the Chinese Smorgasbord. Love that this is available on the island. The soup was delicious, and there was a good variety of dishes to choose from, well worth the $30 per head for all-you-can-eat."
"Mixed review. Lovely sitting outside with a view over the garden and swimming pool. Inside is very ugly and plasticy. The guy serving at the bar and taking food orders was great. The meals were all good, especially the gratin, but the broccoli was inedible. We guessed it was frozen then boiled for ages. We liked the wine."
"Difficult place to review. It has a nice setting overall but the dining room is basically like a noisy school cafeteria with wobbly tables and plastic chairs, it adjoins the bar so a few noisy blokes and a game of pool ruined any chance of atmosphere. I had the coral trout, the fish was great but was served with the WORST vegetables I have EVER been served, including from the mother in law... Horrible grey, over-cooked cauliflower and dreadful over-salted sweet potato mush. I commented on this to the waitress and she was totally uninterested in the feedback. Someone in the kitchen can't cook and doesn't care about quality. My wife had steak, it looked OK (medium rare) but was bloody (poorly aged) and tough and the vegetables were raw! Another thing, the path up to the restaurant is poorly signed and poorly lit (take a torch), getting out is tricky too, there's a cryptic gate with a hidden push button. I suspect that the chef left a few months back and the barman took over the cooking. Disregard food reviews before about April 2022. Since then they are all poor."
