As a member, you can conveniently download your tax statements from your member area. And if you're a new member joining directly on hospital and extras cover and paying by direct debit, you can enjoy 6 weeks free plus no 2 & 6 month waits on extras. Please note that 12 month waits, annual limits, and sub-limits apply.

When you join GMHBA, we take care of all the paperwork for you. We will cancel your old membership, request the transfer certificate from your previous insurer, and ensure that any waiting periods served with your old insurer are recognized if you join on the same or lower level of cover within 30 days of your previous cover ceasing.

"I have noted the rather polarizing reviews on GMHBA eye care. It seems that there are different types of reviews for service people compared with the optometrists. I can only report on my experiences. I followed my optometrist to GMHBA because I liked her work. This has not changed in the 18 months I have been going to GMHBA. I have little to do with the desk other than to acknowledge my arrival and for this they are OK. I have noticed some service people have voices that project rather well but that for me is no criticism. In all the years I have been going to my optometrist she has never tried to get me to buy glasses but simply monitors my sight. I am extremely happy with Anna. Since writing this review I have again attended their rooms. Again I was extremely happy with my treatment, Anna is an extremely nice and skilful optometrist. Because I was so complementary of my experiences with Anna, my wife changed her optometrist and is equally as happy. I appreciate some people may not have had the positive experiences I have had but I have always been very happy with them."
"So, they take over $400 per month in premiums, and pay out less then 10% of a standard dental procedure. There's no option for less than one star."
"Natasha Willmese is a very professional optometerist who takes the time to explain things and makes you feel very comfortable. I recently experienced an injury to my eye and her caring manner is exceptional and she leaves no stone unturned. I'm glad I got her on my second visit. GMHBA is lucky to have this lady represent them. Thank you Natasha!"
"Would NOT recommend. Rude staff who make inappropriate comments towards customers which demonstrates both incredibly poor customer service & lack of insight in service staff as well a sub par Human Resources departed. Do better."
"Dodgy. They will end the TMS pilot program from the 1st November but the pre approved sessions that were provided in September to me will no longer be available for me to use. I have paid the premium to these guys to have those sessions/treatments and they took me those away like this. Not fair. Will make a complain to the consumers affairs."
