Welcome to Geelong Psychology Group, located at 77 Moorabool Street in Geelong, Australia. Formerly known as Janine Lucas and Colleagues Psychology Services, we are a solution-focused clinical psychology practice dedicated to helping individuals address their current life challenges or long-standing issues.
Our approach to treatment is focused on providing practical skills and feedback to empower you in finding resolution for a wide range of personal concerns and psychological difficulties. With compassion and understanding, our team of experienced psychologists utilizes a variety of evidence-based methods, including Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy, tailoring each approach to meet your individual needs.
In addition to therapy, we also offer psychological assessments to investigate possible learning or attention problems, ability, personality type, and career planning. Our goal is to help you overcome psychological and emotional difficulties, prevent relapse, and achieve personal growth in a comfortable and supportive environment.
At Geelong Psychology Group, we specialize in various areas, including separation/divorce, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, attachment/separation difficulties, self-esteem, body image, phobias, anxiety, depression, and self-harm. We understand that each individual is unique, and we strive to develop your strengths and assist you in achieving your life goals.
We are proud to offer specialized group programs such as Uniquely Me, a five-week program designed to improve self-esteem, and Uniquely Men, a program aimed at enhancing self-worth. Additionally, we have a mindfulness group for clients seeking extra support with their mindfulness exercises.
As an institution, we acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
At Geelong Psychology Group, we are committed to providing excellent service to our clients. In case our reception is unattended, we have a message service, as well as an answering machine for after-hours messages. We also offer external supervision to provisional and registered psychologists.

"Completely unimpressed with this practice. They can charge what they like. I have no issue with them charging the recommended fee (though it is a stretch for most even with a Mental Health Care plan) but the "after hours" $20 fee when you're already paying over $250 per session is rubbish! Taking advantage in a time when it's really hard to get into a child psychologist! Disgusting taking advantage of those who are vulnerable and desperately looking for support for their family. They aren't the only child psychology practice doing this in the area. I wonder if they're owned by the same people?"

"I was put with an inexperienced psychologist and my first appointment didn't feel right. Not a good fit. The clinic assured me I could be put with someone else if I felt uncomfortable. So I felt optimistic I could find someone I clicked with. Then I got a phone call to tell me that of the 18 pyschologists at the clinic (many of whom have decades of experience!) NONE would be "suitable" for me, sorry, bye bye! So, overall, I had politely questioned their arbitrary decision to put me with this individual, in an attempt to ensure I had a clinician that I felt safe and comfortable with, and rather than respect that they kicked me to the curb for not conforming. The end Terrible way to treat a patient."
