You Yangs Regional Park Turntable Drive, Little River, Victoria 3211
About the Business
Welcome to You Yangs Regional Park, a stunning establishment and tourist attraction located in Little River, Australia. Situated on Turntable Drive, this park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Wadawurrung People. Parks Victoria deeply respects the enduring connection that Wadawurrung Traditional Owners have with these lands and waters, and acknowledges their ongoing role in caring for Country.
Prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking views, diverse birdlife, and endless opportunities for outdoor activities. The You Yangs is a paradise for walkers, horse riders, and mountain bikers alike. The park's distinctive granite peaks rise dramatically from the flat plains below, offering panoramic views that stretch all the way to Melbourne, just an hour away.
For mountain biking enthusiasts, we offer over 50 kilometers of purpose-built trails catering to both beginners and experts. From easy dirt roads to technical single-tracks and adrenaline-pumping downhill trails, there's something for everyone. Alternatively, you can explore the scenic beauty of the You Yangs from the comfort of your car along The Great Circle Drive. Don't miss the chance to climb Flinders Peak, the highest point in the park, and be rewarded with uninterrupted views of Melbourne and Geelong. Picnic areas are available throughout the park, making it a perfect destination for a day out with family or friends.
The You Yangs is home to a rich variety of plant species, with tall eucalyptus trees like manna gum, yellow gum, and river red gum dominating the landscape. Native shrubs, groundcovers, wattle, and drooping sheoaks add to the diversity. The park is also a haven for wildlife, with over 200 bird species recorded, as well as sightings of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, brush-tail possums, echidnas, and lizards.
To fully immerse yourself in nature, we recommend exploring the park with a Licensed Tour Operator. With more than 400 operators across Victoria, they can help you discover over 60 different types of nature-based experiences, including hiking, mountain biking, boating, indigenous culture tours, birdwatching, and more. These experts know the best spots and will ensure your adventure is safe and enjoyable.
Autumn and Winter are ideal seasons for mountain biking in the You Yangs, as the increased rain reduces dust and firms up the trails. Don't miss the bi-annual Mountain to Mouth event, an 80km arts journey celebrating the contemporary song lines of the Wadawurrung people, starting from the You Yangs.
We strive to make our park accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Victoria offers a wide range of facilities to ensure that people of all abilities can enjoy our wonderful parks. Assistance dogs are welcome in Parks Victoria parks and reserves, with entry requirements applying to usually dog-prohibited areas, such as national parks.
For school students, we offer ranger-guided excursions aligned with the curriculum. Visit our website to download the Education Program and email serendipeducationcentre@parks.vic.gov.au to make a booking.
Before planning your visit to You Yangs Regional Park, please keep in mind that it is a popular destination, especially during summer. Check our website for important information and consider the enduring connection that Traditional Owners have with this land as you explore, learn, and live within this Aboriginal cultural landscape.

"Beautiful serene walking trail. We had an amazing weather and did the 1.5km walk. Not a steep climb. Easy walking for kids & adults alike. Plenty of free parking available. There is a parking ahead from the spot too which is where you can sit to eat. There are 2 entrances to this hill. We missed the first route and ended at the second. The first one is for walking and the second route is for biking. Thankfully one of the bikers guided us to the spot we missed. Ensure that you carry your own food as there are no eateries for quite a distance. Overall a beautiful trek with great views."
"Did the Flinders Peak walk (4kms) on a warm and sunny winter Saturday. Was a lovely walk, took an hour round trip. Beautiful views of nature and of the city in the distance. Free parking, access and toilets. Definitely recommend!"
"First time visit here and won't be the last! Not far from Melbourne, you can actually have clear views of the Cities Skyscrapers to the East on a clear enough day. We visited on a winter weekday when it was cold and very windy, especially up on the exposed peaks. It was still moderately busy with quote a few walkers, mountain bikers etc. Great natural environment, lots of Birdlife, stunning scenery and views from the higher parts. BBQs, shelters, picnic tables and clean, modern drop toilets are located near all the car parks we visited. The park is popular of rock climbers and it can be quite entertaining watching them abseil down some of the large rock formations."
"A fantastic place to get out and walk, hike or mountain bike. We parked at the office car park and did the Big Rock walk. We then continued on and did the Flinders Peak walk, which was quite challenging as lots and lots of steps up a steep incline. Well worth the effortt hough for the great views."
