Highton Preschool

Welcome to Highton Preschool, located at 74 Belle Vue Avenue in Highton, Australia. We are an establishment, point of interest, and school that is dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for your child.

At Highton Preschool, we believe in encouraging your child to discover themselves by exploring their interests and the world around them. We do this through various means, including nature-based activities, collaborative projects, and building strong relationships. Our large outdoor play spaces are just the beginning of the fun learning experiences we offer.

Our curriculum is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, which emphasizes the importance of child-led learning and creativity. We believe in empowering children to use their imagination and initiative to create their own games and develop a growing appreciation for the natural environment.

During terms 2 and 3, we offer a unique bush kinder program at Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre. This program allows your child to not only connect with nature but also learn about the culture of our First Nations people. It is an integral part of our inclusive and anti-bias curriculum.

We understand the importance of the family unit and strive to support families in their parenting role. We encourage families to join us for our 'Stay and Play' days, where we celebrate the richness of different cultures through music, cooking, and life experiences.

Located within the Highton Child and Family Hub, our preschool is conveniently situated alongside other community facilities, including maternal and child health services and playgroups. This allows for a seamless experience for families and further enhances the sense of community within our institution.

We are proud to have received positive feedback from parents during the challenging times of COVID-19. Parents have expressed their gratitude for our safe and nurturing environment, as well as our flexibility and dedication to the safety and learning opportunities for their children.

We are excited to announce that BCYF and Bethany have merged and are now known as Meli. As like-minded not-for-profit organizations, we are working together to strengthen our community through all stages of life.
