"The restaurant is part of the Curlewis Golf course and has a lovely outlook. The restaurant for us tonight was 50% full and the atmosphere with the open fire enjoyable . Particularly enjoyable was that the noise level was low so conversation was easy. The staff were worth 5 stars , attentive, engaging and competent. Unfortunately the food was a let down. Presentation was worth 5 stars. BUT I had the duck for an entree and the rabbit for a main. I didn’t enjoy the sauce on the duck hence struggled with it . So you can imagine my disappointment to find the sauce on the rabbit was IDENTICAL to the entree.!! 2 in our group ordered the steak and although cooked and presented beautifully the accompanying bearnaise sauce was unpalatable and hence both meals were left unfinished. The mushroom meal was enjoyed. We enjoyed ourselves and the evening and we thank the staff for the wonderful service but unfortunately we’re not likely to return."

"We were treated to be seated in the Claribeaux in a lunch timeslot (rather than Spike Bar) due to having 22 family members for a celebration. The venue was perfect....spectacular. The service even better...thank you to Danni, chefs and other wait staff for your patience and attention. All lingered and were reluctant to leave!"

"Great French food and attentive service. Lots of gluten free options and the highlight for all was a tomato tart! A surprise for a bunch of meat eaters. Delicious and the staff were thoughtful. If possible, dine early. Was heaving when we left. Dessert was very very sweet. We don't have a huge sweet tooth so will probably have had an extra entree for the table next time. Will be back. Great value given the quality."

"This place is sinfully underrated! If we never dug deep for a restaurant that was open on Monday nights, we would’ve never stumbled across claribeaux. And what a shame that would’ve been! We had the escargot and steak tartare for entree and they were beautifully done with quality ingredients. The steak main was tender and melt in your mouth and (for once in a long time) actually cooked to medium rare. The ocean trout was lovely with the beurre Blanc sauce. Mussels were amazing and that’s from someone that doesn’t like mussels! The desserts were okay and it rounded out the whole experience. Interestingly, everything was beautifully done except one thing - missing a pinch of salt. There is almost something theatrical about doing a perfectly cooked steak and a beurre Blanc sauce, just to not make it salty enough to make it sing. Fine by us though as there is salt on the table and we helped ourselves. Yes, the tempo of the service err on the slower side and you do need to pour your own water or catch their attention. As long as you are aware of this and make your request when they come around asking how the food was, it will never be an issue. Less than 100 dollars per head for this fine dining quality of food - what more can you want?"

"Celebrated our anniversary here and what an experience! The staff were amazing, there was a staff member training another, and she was so patient with him and he did an amazing job servicing our table. She recommended us our entire meal as we’ve never visit here before, nothing disappointing. Can’t wait to come back!"
