During a skin check appointment, which typically lasts 10-15 minutes, our doctors use a dermatoscope to closely examine any spots on your body. If any spots appear concerning, the doctor may take a photo or biopsy of the lesion to be sent away for analysis by a pathologist.

Dr Paul Saunders, a Director of Newcastle Skin Check, has completed a Professional Diploma in Dermoscopy. Dr Ambazidis, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, has also completed a Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy and an Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr Kearns, a Newcastle native, is passionate about providing high-quality skin checks and treatments to all his patients. Dr Botes, who studied medicine at the University of Newcastle, has completed further studies in skin cancer while working as a General Practitioner.
