"Nurse are great look after me with care, kindness and professional advice in mental illness"
"Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. Came to this hospital after it being highly recommended out of State. Had my admission rushed, paperwork wasn’t explained to me and I hadn’t the time to sign it, the Dr’s didn’t listen to me, the nurses kept screwing up my medications and looked at me as is everything I asked was a chore. Had an angry passive aggressive woman patient confront and be menacing towards me, despite mentioning this to the nursing staff multiple occasions; nothing was done. I went to this hospital for respite, treatment and care suffering extreme exhaustion. Discharged after a couple days, apparently for breaking a rule in their code of conduct (which I never received a copy of, nor had it explained to me). Accused of consuming alcohol, as a minor amount showed up on their random breath test machine (which looks like it’s from the 1980s) after having returned from a walk. Never consumed alcohol or any substances, why would I, having travelled out of state as a private patient for the admission and do not have alcohol or substance abuse issues; nor was I there to be treated for any?. They pride theirselves on their care, and attention to detail; however they missed many serious glaring issues, that should have been picked up, but they were negligent and careless. Told if I liked I was welcome back in the future (why would I bother?). Worth noting that I self admitted myself to this facility and of sound mind when doing so and sound mind on leaving. I am flabbergasted that this hospital exists and is able to take mental health patients, and patients in a more vulnerable and precarious situation than I found myself. I left with the knowledge that this place only exists to extort patients for their Pvt health funds/Veteran Affairs entitlements (not treat them), that mental health patients are seen as a cash cow (profit/commodity) not as a whole person deserving of respect and dignity, and that I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone I know or thats had the time to read my review. It’s been a horrid experience and one I would not wish anyone else to go through or endure. Left this place more stressed and exhausted than when I arrived. I think their business model is to break people down slowly, piece by piece and get them to a point where they believe they can’t function without being there, thus creating return clientele and a patient that’s never fully healed from their afflictions or stay in Toronto. NEVER AGAIN!. If I could give the place 0 stars I would, but to write a review you need to give at least 1 star, so there you go."
"I would give no stars if that was possible My Mum died in this hospital due to bad care if u could call it that she was left in a wheel chair for hours dump on the toilet after having a hip replacement doctor unable to find a vein when she had turn anemic she died from infection from bed scores that we had not been told about Nurses smoking and being loud outside her window while she tried to sleep this is a very very sad place for me and recommend if u have a choice of going to another hospital do it don’t go here"
"Recently our 90 yr old mother spent 40 days in rehab at Toronto Private after having previously been in hospitals for fifteen weeks for all but one week since June 7. The care, support and medical expertise she received took her from being virtually unable to do anything to being released to Independent Respite Care with a road map home. I would rate every aspect of Toronto Private as of the highest quality especially their nursing staff and the amazing Dr Oakley."
"The nurses, doctors and support staff have been wonderful. We had a few issues the first couple of days but the rest of the time has been really good. It would be five stars if they did not monitor the 4 visitors per day limit so strictly. There should be flexibility when it comes to immediate family members. A patient can get 4 short visits in the first hour and then they are allowed no more for the remaining four hours."
