About the Business
Welcome to CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn, located at 57 MacArthur Avenue in O'Connor, Australia. As a well-respected not-for-profit organization, we have been providing high-quality family support services for over 60 years. Our services are available to children, young people, and their families in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) as well as the southern and western regional areas of New South Wales (NSW).
With offices in Canberra and various locations in NSW including Goulburn, Moruya, Young, and Wagga Wagga, CatholicCare offers a wide range of programs and services. These include children and young people's services, family and relationship services, counseling and therapeutic supports, out of home and foster care, mental health support, disability services, tenancy and property management, accommodation and support services, alcohol and other drug supports, homelessness services, retirement living, and aged care.
As the social services agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, our focus is on providing person-centered services across the lifespan. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.

"I have been having counselling with Sue in Goulburn and on Zoom now and with corona virus. She is very good and has a good rapor with me."
"If you're a female who plans on going to this service for treatment, please be wary of the 70-80 year old male who handles clients with PTSD. I had a negative experience with that counsellor, which has significantly impacted my well-being. I understand compliments were part of his method but stating "I'd like to share a bed with you, but I'd probably go to heaven or hell first" wasn't professional in any manner and should not be okay on any level dealing with a client experiencing sexually related trauma. To add, as a professional, stating that the freeze response was a bad reaction to violence and I should've therefore responded differently isn't constructive and honestly poor form on both him and the service that hired him. Victim blaming isn't going to help your client with an experience they were not prepared for. Any victim is entitled to deal with trauma the best they can. Stay safe Canberra."
