At Fadden Medical Centre, we understand the importance of prompt medical attention in life-threatening emergencies. In such cases, we urge you to dial Triple Zero (000) for immediate assistance. Please note that the University of Canberra Hospital does not have an emergency department.
For after-hours urgent public health matters, including environmental health, radiation safety, food poisoning, and communicable disease management, we recommend contacting ACT Health's Find a Health Service. This online directory serves as a centralized platform for all health services and practitioner information in Canberra and the surrounding region. It provides a customized and filtered search based on the National Health Services Directory (NHSD).
The NHSD, being the national single source of healthcare service information, ensures the accuracy of the information provided on the directory. Health services directly update the NHSD, and any corrections or updates should be referred to them. We encourage you to utilize this valuable resource for up-to-date healthcare service information.
In case of serious illness or injury requiring urgent attention, please call 000 or visit your local hospital's Emergency Department. For minor health issues such as coughs, colds, sprains, and rashes, we recommend seeking expert advice from your local pharmacist, who can provide you with appropriate guidance.
Additionally, ACT Walk-in Centres are available seven days a week from 7am to 11pm to provide treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. These centers are staffed by specialist nurses who are dedicated to ensuring your well-being.
For free expert advice and reassurance, healthdirect is available 24/7. Simply call 1800 022 222 to access their services.
If you are a healthcare service or provider in the area and would like to register your information on Find a Health Service, please complete the NHSD online registration form on the healthdirect website.

"Fadden medical practice has always been amazing for me, however I am not happy with the wait time that Dr Serafim has, appointment was at 11:30 and waited an hour to be seen (still didn’t have enough time to be seen before I had to leave and ended up cancelling my appointment) this seems to be an ongoing issue."
"Dr Wei Wei is the most wonderful Doctor. She has taken care of our whole family for many years. She is caring and supportive. The reception team and lovely and accommodating with a tough job to do juggling everyone’s needs."
"1 star for plenty of appointment options at 10 min intervals. After waiting 1 hour 20min I advised I was leaving. I arrived on time for my appt with Dr Serafim and I was told there were 3 people ahead of me, come back in 45 min. When I returned, I was told still one person ahead of me. After another 40 min of waiting I decided to book at another practice."
"One of the most disorganized medical centre I have come across. Had a 10.45 am appointment for a Covid booster and waited more than 2 hours. Should have the decency to advise patients that the centre is always overbooked and typical waiting time of more than 2 hours. Why take appointment when they cannot see patients within 30 of appointment time."
"Booked in for an appointment at 10:45am. After an hour of waiting I asked the receptionist how much longer? It was going to be another hour and a half!!! If you overbooked the 1 doctor, or the other doctor/nurse didn't turn up, fine!.. you could let people know when they arrive to expect a delay. I could of left and come back. Never again!!"
