Mantra MacArthur Canberra

"I'm an area local, and we are staying this weekend because of an emergency at our home (fire) rendering it unlivable temporarily. I found the room to be clean, well equipped and pleasant. Urban skincare Co. Products kindly provided smelt so good (especially after the fire) that I am going to buy some for home. Bed was made beautifully, and so comfortable after a long day (up at 0430am with the fire alarm) Staff were professional, friendly, and kind enough to accommodate my husband and I at the last minute. Whilst we likely won't stay again as we live 200m walk away, I would recommend others to stay in this pleasant, quiet and clean hotel."

"Hotel charged our visa $100 as deposit when we checked in. They promised it would be refunded in 5 working days after we checked out. However there was neither a refund nor response to our emails for over 2 weeks. Finally we got our money back after notifying them that we would be filing a complaint. Hotel room and conditions were good so I gave a 4 stars review overall but 2 stars for customer service."

"Friendly service at reception on arrival, room was clean and smelt nice. Generous size room and bathroom. Parking ($15 p/day) was a little frustrating as it is located in adjacent building and luggage had to be lugged up two separate lifts and with no internal access to hotel. Otherwise happy with service."

"Very very clean hotel , low price, high quality room, the room is big, the bed is comfortable ,the hot water is perfect and it is very quiet In the night. I like the smell of shampoo and body balm the room provided. ( I had my own one but I really like these fresh lemongrass orange and ginger smells)"

"I was disappointed with my stay but still rate Mantra Macarthur 3 stars. My room had all the comfort and cleanliness I expect from Mantra. Secure car parking at $15 was quite reasonable. Now the negatives. The restaurant was closed. I don't know for how long but it was closed during my stay. The hotel guest information, which is displayed on the television was full of errors. 'Your room has a mini bar, with a list of prices.' No it did not. It had neither. 'Room service is available. Just choose from the menu in your room.' What menu? I couldn't find a menu anywhere. While it didn't have a mini bar, it did have tea and coffee making facilities, but management has clearly decided to skimp on quality. The only coffee was Nescafe Blend 43 instant, which is just a tad better than that vile International Roast. The milk was long life milk (yuk). This is the standard of a cheap 2-3 star motel. At least those motels though have complimentary biscuits, which Mantra Macarthur did not. The standard of service was sloppy and poor. A couple more things. For some inexplicable reason, reception is on the first floor, not ground floor, which made it just a tad difficult for me to find. A diagonal pointing arrow was my only guide. Upon checking in I was given the wrong room number. That's nothing disastrous but having to take my luggage back to reception to sort out the matter then lug my things back to my correct room is hassle, hassle for the customer. Advice to management: creating hassle for your customers is not good for business. I will neither recommend for or against staying at Mantra Macarthur. The room quality was good but the service badly lacking."
