"The customer service was disappointing. I visited the shop on the 24th of May to return a ring that my partner gifted (sizing issue). I took advantage of the 30 day return. The Asian staff who served me explained that in order to resize the ring, I would need to either pay $50 or buy a care plan. When I tell the staff that I have decided to return and repurchase a ring of my size, she told me that I am unable to do so. I was confused as she repeated over and over “if you buy it again, it will be the same size only”. I felt intimidated. She ended up calling another colleague of hers over, and when I asked again “if I return this, I can received a refund? I don’t understand why can’t I then repurchase a ring of my size”. The other staff said “it is fine then” with a disgusted look on her face. Just when I thought it was resolved, the Asian staff questioned me “buying rings online takes a long time to arrive, how long did you waited for the ring”. The other staff chimed in and start telling me that this shop does not welcome customers who keeps returning their purchases. This is my first time shopping from Michael Hill and I really hope it won’t be my last time. However, this visit was uncomfortable and upsetting."

"I've been a customer of Michael Hill for a long time, particularly the belconnen store and after my recent experience I won't be coming back. My partner brought me a 10carat yellow gold oval bangle for my birthday, not the cheapest item. Anyways, it's beautiful. First of all when he brought it he asked about resizing etc and the manager assured him it could be resized to any size and so he purchased a plan. When I took it back for resizing an older lady had an argument with me saying it needed to be special ordered and that the care plan didn't cover it. Fast forward they finally realised they were wrong.. got measured sent it off for resizing and a week later it came back the WRONG size... Yep.. so in I go again and it had to be sent away yet again. Went in today and had a rude older lady tell me I needed the piece of paper or a picture of it to pick up my order. When I stated that I wasn't given anything she told me I couldn't take it home and was very blunt and rude about it. I explained I could tell her my name number and address and she was very rude and in the end I said to call the manager because I wasn't leaving the store without my bangle because it was their stuff up that made me wait that long.. I've been a customer of Michael Hill for a long time and I've never had such bad, unprofessional service. Might try a different store next time."

Her customer service skills were so great we bought our wedding band from her even though a month prior we asked about the same ring from a different staff member and they didn't get back to us. If we didn't have her after not being contacted we probably wouldn't have bought it from Michael Hill! Great employee!"
"I went to get my ring replated and get a diamond check and received the worst service when I dropped my ring off and when I picked up. The lady when I dropped it off was condescending and made me feel like I was a massive inconvenience because I wasn't buying anything. I also asked her to update my address on the forms as they were incorrectly entered when I orginally purchase the rings. When I was picking up I was yelled at because I had missed 1 diamond check because I had a death in the family and she made a massively big deal about how I can't do that as my warrenty was voided. I would not be shopping at Michael Hill again due to both terrible experiences, but however due to my plans I will be just going to another store."
