Reviews
"Have edited my review as it has been taken down, have tidied it up in attempt to not violate in any of Google's policies. However, in November 2021 My family and I recently moved to Canberra from Brisbane and decided to enroll our daughter in this childcare center because of its good reviews, location and rating on the ACECQA. However we were appalled with the lack of quality in care and communication from this center. We had experienced the following major issues among others. My daughter started to develop very severe nappy rash while attending the facility due to them not changing her nappy frequently enough. To the point where she started to develop multiple sores on her bottom as a result of the sustained nappy rash. She was in a high amount of pain because of these sores, to the point she couldn't even walk properly. Staff failed to inform us that nappy rash was starting to form on her bottom. Given the severity of her rash, this should have been communicated immediately as it is a medical issue that is very hard to miss. At pick ups My wife were only occasionally informed how our daughter was during the day with regards to eating, sleeping and behaviour. Given her age this was important information for continuity of her care for the rest of the day. We ultimately decided to withdraw our child from this center only after a 6 week period which this withdrawal notice was lost in communication as we were nearly billed for a period after we withdrew her. It was only lucky that we had an email chain to prove that we notified the center that we were withdrawing her. I recommend going to other child cares as our child was not well looked after, and the other child cares we have put our child in far exceed the quality of service this service has provided. For example in addition to the above issues this child care does not even provide lunch and are more expensive that other child cares that do."
"My daughter has attended CECC for the last 2 1/2 years, she has loved every minute of it, educators are attentive, communicate well and understanding of needs of each child. She was able to build strong relationships with a number of educators in each room she moved to, and while those particular educators were her favourite she was completely comfortable with ALL staff. The director is Knowledgable and willing to work with each and every family so they feel special, the educators are inclusive and understanding of many cultures and are able to adapt well to the needs of each child. We are sad to be moving on to preschool and leaving their incredible care behind, it truly is like one big family!"
"My daughter attends Civic Early Childhood Centre and she loves going to daycare. I have found the staff to be caring and friendly people, and my daughter and I are made to feel welcome every morning. There are lots of books and toys in the centre and I have noticed staff putting in effort to make creative toys for the children. The babies room has toddler sized tables and chairs for the older babies to sit at for morning tea and I also like that there is space to play in the room as well as quiet areas with books and cushions, plus a great outdoor area for real outdoor play. My daughter has been attending since Nov 2016 and I would definitely recommend this centre to other parents."
"My three children have attended CECC for over five years. The staff are kind, engaging and love the children. Tellingly, I've never been 'allowed' to collect the kids early- they want to stay the whole day and look forward to their daycare days. The staff are always friendly, engaging and happy to chat about my children and their day. The physical environment is lovely- a great outside playground and garden with a 'story train' and great educational toys inside. A fabulous place."
"My daughter has enjoyed attending the Civic Centre since she started at 6 months of age (she is now two). She is always happy to be dropped off and sometimes does not want to leave when I come to pick her up! The staff are always friendly, happy and helpful. The outdoor area is great and the centre is in a handy location - very close to my work. I have been very satisfied with the level of care provided to my daughter and she has flourished during her time here. I intend to also send my youngest son here at the start of 2018 when I return to work."
