Canberra Imaging Group - Erindale
About the Business
Welcome to Canberra Imaging Group - Erindale, located at Grattan Court in Wanniassa, Australia. As an establishment dedicated to health, we are a point of interest in the medical imaging field. At Canberra Imaging Group, we pride ourselves on offering the best service and the latest technology.
With 10 convenient locations across Canberra and NSW, we are a comprehensive medical imaging service. Our facility is equipped with 4 modern Siemens MRI systems, allowing us to provide comprehensive examinations of various body systems including the brain, skeletal system, musculoskeletal system, gastrointestinal system, endocrine system, central nervous system, prostate, and breast.
Using low dosage x-rays, our computed tomography (CT) scans produce a volume of data that can be displayed as cross sections or slices in multiple planes. This volumetric data can also be used to create 3-dimensional images, providing ultimate flexibility with fields of view ranging from Ø8x8 cm to Ø11x8 cm. Our CT scans are performed with Planmeca Romexis® implant planning software, offering large volume views that include 3rd molars as a standard feature.
We also offer PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) scans, which are extremely sensitive imaging procedures that show the chemical function of an organ or tissue from the PET scan, combined with the structure from a conventional diagnostic CT.
Our DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorption) Bone Densitometry method is used for measuring bone density and diagnosing osteoporosis. Early detection and treatment of osteoporosis significantly decrease the risk of fractures.
CIG also provides integrated SPECT/CT systems, allowing both functional and anatomic data to be obtained in a single imaging session. This branch of medicine uses radiation to provide information about the body's anatomy and functioning of specific organs, enabling physicians to provide quick and accurate diagnoses of conditions such as thyroid disorders, heart disease, and bone fractures.
Ultrasound, which uses high-frequency sound waves, is another service we offer. Our skilled sonographers use a "transducer" placed on your skin to generate sound and receive echoes from structures inside your body.
Mammography plays a key role in the early detection of breast cancer. This technique uses X-ray imaging and compression of the breast tissue to obtain clear images and gather information about various breast conditions.
Angiography, a specialized diagnostic imaging procedure, involves threading a small flexible tube called a catheter into an artery or vein, usually in the groin area. A contrast dye is then injected to examine the desired area.
Our operating hours vary by day and service, ensuring flexibility for our patients. On Mondays to Thursdays, MRI services are available from 7:00am to 8:40pm, X-Ray from 8:30am to 5:30pm, CT from 8:40am to 5:00pm, Ultrasound from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and Nuclear Medicine from 8:15am to 5:00pm. On Fridays, MRI services are available from 7:00am to 4:40pm, while the other services have the same operating hours as Mondays to Thursdays. On Saturdays, MRI services are available from 8:00am to 3:30pm, CT from 8:30am to 1:00pm, Ultrasound from 8:30am to 1:00pm, and X-Ray from 8:30am to 1:00pm.

"I have lodged a formal complaint on behalf of my wife who attended an appointment this afternoon at the Valley Diagnostic Centre, Wanniassa, ACT 2903. My wife was scheduled to receive a cortisone shot (injection) to relieve pain as part of her on-going treatment for her injured wrist. My wife had been referred by her specialist surgeon and commented that her surgeon had recommended an anaesthetic before administering the cortisone injection. She was informed in a dismissive manner by the two male attendees that she did not need an anaesthetic for this injection. After the injection, my wife was crying uncontrollably and experiencing severe pain. In response to observing my wife in pain, one male made a cheeky comment and walked out of the room. The other male (radiologist) also made comments which were unprofessional, misogynistic and inappropriate in the circumstances. My advice: go somewhere else."
"One of the worst service ever. Pls do not bother to come and waste your money, Where the staff is in hurry to finish up the procedure. Super rude staff. Just took the money and no service."
"I received a refferal from my doctor to contact Canberra imaging. I messaged Canberra imaging numerous times through their online booking "request" portal as the wait times over the phone were excessive. I didn't get a response for over 3 days now, so I went to different company and instantly had a booking for the next day. My injury is in urgent need of assessment and Canberra imaging failed me. I suggest Canberra imaging hire some more staff and get serious as peoples health is on the line."
"worst place to go to unfortunately. had a lady do an internal ultrasound on myself and my baby and was rough and made some comments about myself and my partners age and being young parents as well as criticising my job. very uncomfortable situation especially with her making comments, wasn’t an enjoyable time to see our baby for the first time."
"Absolutely disgraced that my Dad was booked in for an ultrasound for a suspected hernia. He had suffered a stroke a couple of months before so it was quite urgent to get this looked at. Turned up to the appnt in the afternoon only to be told he had been booked incorrectly as there was no Dr on duty to perform this. Not only did I have to take the afternoon off from my work which has cost me but my poor Dad had to fast for 6 hrs, wait 2 weeks for this incompetent booked in appnt but now has to wait another 3 weeks to get this ultrasound when it shouldn't have been stuffed up in the first place. Extremely disappointed. I'd go elsewhere....."
