"Not many suburban grocers in Canberra have a walk-in beer fridge, and this one is a lovely place on a boiling hot day. Quite probably the best pies in Canberra, even though they come from Ulladulla. But, my favourite things here are Spanish sherry, pastured eggs, grass-fed butters, raw milk and Dutch & Belgian cacao. On the one hand, this is a convenience store. On the other hand, there are things here which you will never find at the big 3 supermarkets."

"Discovered this little gem of a cafe (inside the Spence Grocer) about 8 months ago and have loved it. Great cakes, coffee, pies and menu items. My go to place to catch up with friends - nothing too fancy but easy parking right outside, and they usually have my favourite choc hazelnut meringue cake. The grocery part is clean and well stocked, as are the wines."
