"First time went there for dinner as my birthday, but I would never recommend It for others. The food was not hygienic. I had a diarrhea after eating them. Besides. The soup was unbelievably salty. It seems the cook was unhappy when he prepared the food. Every dish is so greasy. Only the waitress provide a good service. But overall totally a bad diner experience. Never recommend. I know it is hard to run a restaurant. Sorry about what I was writing, but I just want to tell you the truth and you just don't want to put your kids in a risk of food unhygienic problem."
"Went here for dinner, customer service was awful. The lady serving was rude and insulting and had an attitude, there was water on the floor around one table and no one was bothered to clean this up, and another table had been left with dirty dishes. The food was average at best, definitely overpriced for what you get. Save your money and go elsewhere."
"Last minute decision to have Chinese food rather than fast food. Dropped in and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the spring rolls, sizzling fillet steak, rice and some Chinese tea. Delicious! Just the right amount of zing to it and lovely tender steak. Decent sized serves. Hostess was pleasant and service was good. It was a nice, welcoming place to have a meal. Would definitely go back."
"Ordered spicy pot with 6 options, came home found out they missed the beef tendon, phoned them and they insist they didn't miss a thing. I've finished the pot and pretty sure the beef tendon wasn't added. Otherwise the spicy pot is quite tasty."
"Obviously one is not expecting haute cuisine at Jasmine House. Enter a world of orange walls, orange napkins and orange lanterns. I can remember when Jasmine House used to be an Indian restaurant with peacock signage. ( That's how long I've lived in Canberra, depressing). The interior remains green, orange and white, just like the Indian flag. There is a steady stream of ubereats driver pickups. The smell of Chinese 5 spice hangs in the air, although I'd be hard pressed to describe it as "fragrant". The restaurant is empty, bar a family of 6, and another group of 4. A little boy proclaimed "I love fried rice." Good for you, buddy! Don't think you can sit just anywhere! The waitress directs me to my assigned table for 1 (since obviously it's very crowded and there are no free tables ) and tells me I've grabbed the wrong menu. She brings out a water bottle and a glass - smells musty. The menu highlights regional Chinese cuisine. There's also some Thai style dishes. ( Eg Spicy Thai King Prawn dong yum soup, Thai Style Chicken Noodle Soup, Thai Style Massaman curry, Thai style Chiang Mai Curry) I also see "Singapore chilli" & "Malaysian" something. I order special fried rice ( refreshingly ordinary, could do with more msg) and a Thai style pork n basil dish ( definitely not Thai!) Rice and pork for $35, not cheap. No condiments are available, not even chilli oil. The waitress says she can get me fresh chili, then proceeds to not get me any. Previously I've ordered the duck pancakes ( bit salty) and the fried squid entree. ( Very oily). Err.... Definitely an experience."
