About 400 Gradi - Adelaide
Welcome to 400 Gradi - Adelaide! Located in Norwood, on The Parade, our establishment is a haven for food lovers seeking an authentic Italian dining experience. As an establishment that offers meal delivery, meal takeaway, and is a point of interest, we are dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible service.
What sets 400 Gradi apart as the best authentic Italian restaurant? It all starts with our commitment to paying tribute to our Italian heritage. Our dishes are crafted using traditional ingredients inspired by the regions that influence the style and flavor of Italian cooking. When you step into our restaurant, you will be transported to Naples, Italy, with every bite.
At 400 Gradi, we believe in creating a unique dining experience unlike any other. Our dishes are cooked with love and passion by our talented chefs and served by our friendly and family-oriented staff, who prioritize customer service above all else. We want to ensure that your dining experience at 400 Gradi is truly unforgettable.
Our journey began with Melbourne-based chef Johnny Di Francesco, the Director of the Gradi Group. With a passion for Italian cuisine since his early days working in a pizzeria after school, Johnny's love for Italian food led him to explore his passion further. He left his Engineering degree behind for an extended trip to Italy, where he immersed himself in the country's culinary traditions. In 2008, 400 Gradi was launched, and since then, it has expanded across Melbourne and even other parts of the world.
If you're searching for the best authentic Italian restaurant, look no further than 400 Gradi. We adhere to the guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the world authority on traditional Neapolitan pizza. Johnny was the first Australian to be inducted into the AVPN and is the Principal of Australasia for the Association, ensuring that our pizzas are as authentic as can be.
What truly makes an Italian restaurant the best is the use of authentic, simple flavors and bold, natural ingredients. At 400 Gradi, we believe in the philosophy of "less is more," using traditional Italian herbs and spices in moderation to enhance the flavors of our main ingredients.
A glance at our menu will reveal that our dishes are made with nothing but the finest traditional ingredients. Start your dining experience with our mouthwatering antipasti, including a Salumi board filled with cured meats, mixed olives, and arancini with a mozzarella heart and spicy rose sauce.
Our Margherita Verace, awarded the title of the world's best pizza, is a testament to our commitment to classic Italian flavors. Topped with San Marzano tomato, Fior di Latte Cheese, Basil, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, it is a true delight for pizza lovers. Seafood enthusiasts will also be pleased with our selection of Antipasti, which includes Natural and Kilpatrick Oysters, Calamari, and Grilled King Prawns.
At 400 Gradi, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy our Italian cuisine. That's why we cater to various dietary requirements, offering gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Whether you're indulging in another slice of our Marinara or Focaccia Pizza or savoring a second serving of Risotto Al Funghi, you can do so without any concerns.
In addition to our expansive Antipasti, Contorni, Pizza, and Pasta menu, our Secondi menu offers a range of options, from Pan-Seared local Snapper to Chargrilled Scotch Fillet. There truly is something for the whole family at 400 Gradi.

Reviews of 400 Gradi - Adelaide
"Beautiful decorated restaurant, good size tables, staff from Italy, beautiful food..I had the Pappadelle Fungi w Truffle yumm yumm fresh made pasta.. we were a table of 6 w a boss from Milan! He rated it even! Had shared entrees all great ..nice to discover a lovely new restaurant...highly recommend. Thanks"
"I am extremely disappointed with 400 Gradi. The crab and lobster spaghettini. Ordered for $42 and received pasta with no bisque sauce or flavour. Completely bland. Looks and tastes like plain boiled spaghetti. No effort or thought was put into this dish."
"Love the wooden oven, didn't have such a crunchy and puff pizza base for a while, love it. Pasta? Kind of sexy, if u like frigidity. I always remember Italian food should be like a hot girl, full of passion. Crepe? Cold like the July night at Adelaide. Mmm, mmm Fusion Italian restaurant??? Well if for dating, love spending money for the atmosphere, good choice"
"This used to be my go to pizza place where I brought all my friends to. I don’t know what happened over the past year but the quality dropped significantly. Maybe it was too busy at the time? Idk. During my last visit, the pizza was soggy, you can literally see the grease on top of the pizza and the service was awful. I’m not one to complain about service but if you make me wait 10minutes for chilli oil that I’ve requested thats just plain ridiculous. They even removed their carbonara which was my favourite item. They do really good coffees though, might come back here for it. Heres my breakdown Price: 4/5 kinda on the pricey end Food: previously 5/5 now 3/5 Service: 2/5 Interior: 5/5 Not sure why they removed their award for most cheese on a pizza? Maybe they lost it?"
"Resplendent venue with moreish food, Friendly and courteous staff + manager with good wine and food knowledge. Amazing experience last night, will definitely be back for some more divine food and wine."
