Adelaide Sexual Health Centre
About the Business
Welcome to the Adelaide Sexual Health Centre (ASHC), located at 137 East Terrace in Adelaide, Australia. Formerly known as Clinic 275, ASHC is a trusted establishment that provides a free and confidential specialist sexual health service for the people of South Australia.
At ASHC, we offer a comprehensive range of services to ensure the well-being of our clients. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals provides medical consultations, advice, testing, and treatment for all sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. With our on-site laboratory testing, we can quickly and accurately diagnose STIs, allowing for prompt treatment and peace of mind.
In an effort to improve accessibility, we are now trialling walk-in appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for individuals who do not exhibit signs of an STI or require PEP or PrEP. Bookings can be made on Wednesdays. Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented changes to our operating procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and clients.
STIs can be transmitted through vaginal, anal, or oral sex, and it is crucial to stay informed about these infections. ASHC provides information on common STIs in South Australia, helping individuals understand the risks and take preventive measures.
In addition to our services for individuals, ASHC also offers resources and information specifically tailored for health professionals. We believe in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the healthcare community to improve sexual health outcomes for all.
As part of our commitment to the community, we actively engage in various initiatives. We encourage you to learn more about our work and find ways to get involved. Whether it's supporting carers, closing the health disparity gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal populations, or fighting mosquito-borne diseases, ASHC is dedicated to making a positive impact.
We understand the importance of protecting vulnerable populations, such as young children, from illnesses like the flu. Vaccination is the best defense, and we offer free flu shots for children aged 6 months to under 5 years.
SA Health, the organization behind ASHC, is proud to be part of a world-class health system. As the largest employer in South Australia, we provide diverse career opportunities and work environments. If you are passionate about healthcare, we invite you to explore the job openings at SA Health and discover what awaits you in South Australia.
Sometimes, the Emergency Department may not be the best place for you to seek care. We encourage you to explore alternative healthcare options that may be more suitable for your needs. Your well-being is our priority, and we want to ensure you receive the appropriate care in the most efficient manner.
In times of crisis, such as the recent River Murray flood, ASHC is here to provide mental health support services for community members affected by such events. We understand the unique challenges individuals may face during difficult times and are committed to offering assistance.
Rest assured that at ASHC, we prioritize your privacy and confidentiality. For more information about our privacy policy, copyright, and disclaimer, please visit the respective links provided on our website.

Reviews
"Have been coming here for years for any STI testing and concerns. Very friendly, inclusive and non-judgemental staff that make me feel welcomed and open every time."
"Ridiculous set up in that you now need to make an appointment. You then have to wait for a phone call. Strange to be told all that in a completely empty waiting room. Seems I'm not the only one made to feel fobbed off in this way as per comment below and those who agreed with the statement."
"I have been tested at the ASHC for last 20 years. Awesome people. Always helpful and always nice. Never had any issues in that time. Awesome. And the new location on Wakefield St is the best. Far better than the old one. Easier to get to, easier parking and much nicer place than the old place."
"This clinic has a really nice team. I met one of the most professional gynecologists out there. She was calm, explained to me all the things she would do. All my anxiety got away from the minute she started talking. I'm from France and before coming to this clinic I had only had really cold and "brutal" gynecologists. This woman changed my mind and helped me realising brutality was not part of their jobs! Thanks again to all the team for having taken such good care of me when I came once."
