Marrakesh Apartments

"Nice place in a good location. The rooms are a good size but the beds use flat sheets instead of fitted and then 2 flat sheets wrapped around the uncovered duvet instead of a duvet cover, so all the sheets just get tangled while sleeping. They also had a really overpowering artificial smelling fragrance in the lobby and the air and when I asked the front desk if they could possibly turn it off because I have scent sensitivities and it was making me cough, she said people really enjoy it and they can't stop it because it is in the air conditioning. This seems like a health risk for people with allergies, and I felt like I had to hold my breath every time I walked through the lobby and got a headache at the end of the 5 days. The pools are really nice and the hot tub is a great heat with strong jets. Staff seemed really nice, and the cafe downstairs was great. Would stay here again if they were able to turn off the horrible air freshener. May be that they were trying to counteract some of the previous reviews about a "bad scent" but maybe it's too far in the other direction."

"I stayed here for the Gold Coast Marathon weekend because the hotel advertised a sauna, heated pools and spa. As I was running the HM and full marathon I really needed these facilities and I did make use of them. I found out the hotel also has permanent residence floors. I can’t really comment on service as apart from check in and out there was none. Be aware, the door to my rooms would not close properly without a significant push and often found that it was open when I was sure I had closed it. It’s not luxurious but comfortable and I had a pleasant stay."

"Cafe is quiet and secluded within the apartments. Healthy options menu and pretty view of the pool."

"My sister and I stayed here for a few days and the the entire place smelt like someone had died and was rotting in the floor boards. Everywhere we went in the place smelt so bad it wasn’t just our apartment. The apartment we stayed in was so dirty I doubt it was cleaned before we stayed there. The walls were dirty and the place was COVERED in dust I felt gross in it even after a shower. Also you have a resident living there that made us super uncomfortable while we were just trying to relax in the pool. The lady at the front desk was lovely it’s a shame she was the only the positive thing about the place."

"Reasonably priced rooms, nice equipt kitchen. The building needs better pest management with a few cockroaches to welcome us. After hours check in was available but had a few flaws. Enjoy other stay and all in all a 4 star for value for money."
