About the Business
Welcome to South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) Repat Health Precinct, located in Daw Park on Daws Road. As a leading medical imaging institution in Australia, SAMI offers specialist, integrated, and multi-discipline services to both public and private patients. With six metropolitan and four country South Australian hospitals under our care, SAMI is the largest public imaging provider in the country.
Our dedicated team of over 800 staff members, including specialist radiologists, medical physicists, radiographers, sonographers, nursing, and administrative support staff, ensure that our patients receive the highest quality care. With approximately 600,000 examinations conducted each year, we pride ourselves on our expertise and experience.
In addition to our hospital services, SAMI also provides reporting services to 37 country hospitals across the state and operates a mobile Bone Density unit that visits country towns in South Australia. We are committed to ensuring that Medicare eligible patients have no out-of-pocket expenses when accessing our services, as we believe in making healthcare accessible to all.
Located opposite The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, our QE Specialist Centre offers leading medical imaging services and is dedicated to teaching and research for the benefit of all South Australians. We value patient privacy and are committed to protecting and respecting it.
At SAMI, we understand the importance of convenience for healthcare professionals. That's why we offer a variety of request forms that can be easily printed from your Practice Management System, making the process seamless and efficient.
We also recognize the importance of supporting carers who provide emotional support and assistance to their loved ones. Whether it's preparing meals, administering medicine, assisting with personal care, or managing bills, we are here to support you.
As part of SA Health, our commitment extends beyond medical imaging. We are actively involved in closing the gap on health disparities between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities through our Aboriginal Health Care Framework 2023-2031. We also provide information on how to protect yourself from mosquito-borne diseases through our Fight the Bite campaign and offer free flu vaccinations for children aged 6 months to under 5 years, as they are more vulnerable to the flu.
At SA Health, we take pride in being part of a truly world-class health system. With a variety of careers and work environments available, we invite you to explore the healthcare job opportunities and everything else that South Australia has to offer.
If you're unsure whether the Emergency Department is the best place for you, we encourage you to explore alternative healthcare options. Sometimes, there are better ways to get better, and we are here to help you find the best healthcare solution for your needs.
In times of crisis, such as the recent River Murray flood, SAMI is dedicated to providing mental health support services for community members affected by the disaster. We understand the importance of holistic care and are here to support you during difficult times.
As an institution, we acknowledge and respect Aboriginal peoples as the state's first peoples and nations. We recognize them as the Traditional Owners and occupants of the land and waters in South Australia.

"Still construction work in parts of the Repat grounds but the Imaging centre and surrounds at the northern end are looking good. Enter via Gate 1 and follow the signs, carpark next to centre. I rang for a time and hardly had to wait, very efficient and friendly"
"I was extremely impressed with your clinic and your staff. Customer service is important in all industries. It is however particularly important when people are unwell and vulnerable and your establishment aced in all aspects: pleasant and prompt phone communication, attentive and quick service at reception, timely appointments, professional and detailed exams sessions, quick results and friendly staff members. I had a scan done by a radiologist called Gail (I think she is Canadian). She was incredibly efficient, caring and had so much attention for detail. I live in the Western suburbs so Pasadena is not the closest option for me. I will however drive South everytime because I know I will receive the best care. Thank you for understanding what health is all about. Please extend my best regards to your team. Wishing you all a great festive season! A very happy customer"
"Went for covid test. Friendly and efficient staff. Repat is once again becoming a great health and medical facility"
"Had my 20 week pregnancy scan here. Scan took over an hour and the man who did it was very quiet the whole time and didn't explain anything, which made me feel quite anxious. At the end I said "so is everything ok?" He then replied "yeah". He also got the gender of our baby wrong! We thought we were having a girl for 20 weeks, bought very feminine clothing and decorated our room with lots of pink only to find out at the birth that we had a boy. It would be good to tell people that the scan isnt 100% accurate because I had no idea that people still got it wrong. I recommend if you go here still keep your nursery neutral!"
"I came into radiology after a shoulder injury. I was treated with amazing caring and professionalism by all staff. Well done and a huge thank you. A really more intimate and personalised experience. It was easy to get to, and park. So sad it is closing. It would have been so much more difficult going to a large public facility, particularly with twins in tow. Thank you to all staff."
