At Kit Somers Creative Therapy, we begin our work by discussing what you hope to change in your life. Through the use of various creative techniques, we help you delve deeper into your unconscious mind, uncovering information that may not have been consciously available to you before.

It's important to note that you don't need to consider yourself a creative person to benefit from art and creativity in your therapeutic journey. Using artistic expression allows you to connect with yourself and your challenges in ways that traditional talk therapy alone may not provide.

If you're currently experiencing overwhelming emotions, we invite you to explore a feeling creature created using recycled materials. This unique art piece serves as a safe outlet for processing and understanding these intense feelings within the therapeutic setting.

Additionally, we often incorporate oil pastels into our therapy sessions as a way to express and release emotions without conscious thought. By allowing your body to communicate through art, we can then process the images and gain insight from viewing them from different angles.

Our founder, Kit Somers, brings a wealth of experience to the practice. With a background in corporate sales, PR, marketing, HR, and management consulting, Kit's journey led her to rediscover her own creativity. She even created a successful Hemp clothing business called spellwear, which featured affirmations in each item.

After returning to Adelaide and caring for her parents, Kit pursued further education, earning a Masters in Counselling, a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, and a Graduate Diploma in Arts Psychotherapy. Today, she is passionate about the power of creativity to help individuals explore their depths, heal wounds, and create a path towards their true selves.
