He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Jordan in 2008 and underwent surgical oncology training at the prestigious King Hussein Cancer Centre in Amman, Jordan. In 2012, he relocated to Australia and completed postgraduate training at Lyell McEwin Hospital. He then specialized in oncology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital, and Flinders Medical Centre.

Dr Alawawdeh has a strong interest in clinical research and clinical trials. He recently completed a gastrointestinal cancer clinical fellowship at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he coordinated several early clinical trials of novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies in different tumor types. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a member of various leading national and international clinical cancer trials groups.

With his extensive clinical experience, Dr Alawawdeh covers a broad range of solid tumor malignancies. He has a special interest in gastrointestinal cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and melanoma.
