"As local of nearly 15 years, the service I received today from Sonya & chef Flynn is among the most authentic & genuine service I’ve experienced in Adelaide ever. On arrival Sonya was just brilliant, enthusiastic & proud of her workplace, she took pride in service which was to look after me! How real customer service should be, unknown to me at the time, the chef was sitting towards the back of the room (looked like a regular patron, but was on break, the kitchen was closed) I asked Sonya if there’s any food?? She said absolutely, anything off the menu. Little did I know, earlier when I ordered drinks and took them to my table, the chef noticed I had 2 kids with me, so he’s gone out of his way to go up & tell Sonya “if he wants food, tell him he can have anything, kids might be hungry”. I didn’t know this until later, Sonya told me. I ordered and was a pain because I wanted gluten/dairy free stuff, nothing was too hard for Flynn & Sonya made it happen. I’m literally so excited to pop back in and looking forward to see both of them again. Exceptional experience. I’ll just add, I’ve been visiting the Royal for over 10 years, no one’s ever been this good, not that I’ve ever had bad service, but these 2 took it another level. WELL DONE & please look after those 2. They need to be running service meetings for staff."
"Lovely afternoon lunch with friends, the food was great. Jazz our waitress was exceptional, a credit to the business. Looking forward to seeing the place when renovations are complete."
"Went for a meal at 12pm and was led outdoors to an outside section due to construction. Tried the doors but locked. Male staff member looked at us and continued on what he was doing. Amazed we just walked off and got a good meal elsewhere. Lady at bar was very nice. I won't come back again"
"Overall, a nice night out - the food is pretty good. The portions and quality is there. We ordered fried chicken taquitos and chicken wings for appetizers. The taquitos were really good, and the wings were good, but pretty typical pub style. Mains were chicken nachos and a chicken burrito, which were also pretty good. For drinks we had pina coladas and margaritas, and I ended up also having a Corona (which strangely was served without a lime - at a Mexican restaurant, of all things). The owner has mentioned in other reviews that they are in the process of renovating, which is good, because the atmosphere was not aligned with what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was very much a pub that happens to serve Mexican food. Keen to come back and see what it's like when the renovations are done."
"was actually really surprised to read that this place was pub/mexican cuisine after driving past everyday for so long and seeing the addition of condesa. you would think ???? about mexican at a pub however i had the freshest tastiest quesadilla here! and when you ask for cheese on the side they actually give you cheese! the perfect amount! the sangria was great, fruity and fresh, and a jug was super affordable. definitely will come back to try the endless array of dishes from both menus."
