"cheese cake so delicious. I love this shop’s sushi especially the cheese chicken roll. I like the taste, service and environment of this restaurant very much. It's one of my favorite sushi places that I would come to every day for sushi."
"New Sushi Train opened at Hollywood plaza. Very conveniently placed, so thought I would try it out. The short of it is, there isn't enough turnover yet and it shows in the food. Half of the sushi items listed on the belt were empty and not being made, some of the items were tasty, but most had been sitting there too long. Tried their tempura vegetables, which turned out to be sliced carrot and broccoli. Both were soggy and not really up to scratch. Only other bugbear was the staff. While friendly and accommodating, they hung around far too close and floated about the sitting area to the point of it being uncomfortable. Would be good if they could move their cleaning activities to behind-the-scenes. Might try it again in 6-12 months, provided its still open for business."
"The food was tasty and came out quickly. I did feel that some of the portions were very small. Adding to that some of the portions on the train should have been removed as they had been clearly travelling around too long. We did enjoy our experience but probably won't be regulars because it is quite expensive for what you get. Cheesecake was delicious but very tiny portions for the price."
"We thought we'll give it a go so we came during lunch. Waited in line and was clearly infront of the line but was skipped and given the 1st number to the one after us. I kept quiet but the other staff noticed and we've been told that they will call us first before them. Was been told that they sit us first before the one after us. Next thing happened is they sat 2 families before us with their number tickets are after ours. Their numbering system doesn't work and is not a good experience for a first time diner. Food is good. If there's a "0" for service I would give it."
"Visited during the $3.90 a plate promotion week from the 22nd of June to July 1 2023. Not all plates are actually $3.90 and this is not communicated clearly to customers at all. It's not unusual for a store to have teething issues during their launch week but this was shockingly bad. We had friends who visited on the first and second day who sat without food for ages because staff members didn't have the initiative to check that Ipad orders had actually gone through or bother to communicate with kitchen staff. We visited on Day 4. The ipad system is not currently being used and this is still happening because staff apparently don't know how to write down orders properly in a way that staff in the kitchen can clearly read. Despite clarifying an order more than once with the waiter the kitchen still made the wrong thing. During this week customers can only order food off of one side of the menu and the rest of your usual sushi plates can only be grabbed off of the train. This wouldn't be an issue if the train wasn't consistently empty most of the time we were there. We were luckily sitting directly next to the kitchen window and could grab plates as soon as they placed on the train. Sit further away from the kitchen and you'll probably be stating at a train empty apart from the Tamago plates. The restaurant offers desserts including ice cream but appears to have neglected to purchase or keep track of their stock level of spoons. The appearance and atmosphere of the place is pleasant and has a nice aesthetic. Clean and themed very well. Hopefully staff will pay attention to cleaning the fake cherry blossoms as these will collect dust incredibly fast. Trust me, I've seen restaurant with utterly dust covered fake flowers. Management need to figure out a good sized cash float because multiple tables were being held up at the register because there wasn't enough change available. I hope that the next time we visit the staff will be better trained, have better awareness, initiative and have more confidence. I'm sure all the girls on the floor have the potential to do well in the future. We probably won't be visiting anytime so soon bit I hope Onaki Sushi improves and takes the feedback from everyone seriously. Good luck and congratulations on the new restaurant. Hoping to give a better the review upon my next vist."
