About the Business
Welcome to Seaton Community Child Care Centre, located at 37 Glenburnie Street in Seaton, Australia. Our non-profit, community-based center is managed by a dedicated committee of parents who are committed to providing a warm, inviting, and high-quality experience for you and your child.
At Seaton Community Child Care Centre, we are licensed to care for up to 52 children per day, ranging in age from 6 weeks to school age. Our center is conveniently located next to Seaton High School and boasts a spacious and exciting outdoor area. With plenty of shade and room to learn and develop skills, our outdoor space provides endless opportunities for exploration and play.
One unique feature of our center is our Kitchen Garden, where children actively participate in planting, maintaining, and harvesting fruits and vegetables. These fresh produce are then incorporated into our delicious and balanced meals, following the guidelines set by Nutrition Australia. We provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks, and drinks to promote healthy eating habits for young children. Our goal is to meet 50% of a child's daily nutritional requirements while they are in our care. We also accommodate specific mealtime requirements through consultation with families, our cook, and other professionals.
At Seaton Community Child Care Centre, we believe that natural environments foster open-ended interactions and stimulate children's imaginations. A simple log can become a boat or a bus, taking children on imaginary adventures. Our natural surroundings also provide opportunities to learn about sustainability and develop a deeper connection with nature.
We take pride in our children's involvement in growing their own vegetables in our garden. Additionally, we have a large covered outdoor area for children to enjoy during inclement weather. Sun safety is a priority, and we provide sunscreen and suitable hats for all children. We follow the guidelines set by the Cancer Council to ensure the well-being of our children throughout the year.
Our curriculum is influenced by current educational theories, including Attachment Theory, Circle of Security, Marte Meo, and Primary Caregiving. We base our learning program on the Early Years Learning Framework. With highly qualified educators who have a combined experience of over 185 years in the field, we strive for continuous improvement and best practices in our center.
At Seaton Community Child Care Centre, we prioritize building relationships and creating an environment that supports each child to feel safe and secure. We are responsive and nurturing, recognizing the critical role of these factors in a child's overall development. We focus on the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social health of each child, working in partnership with families to provide education and care that aligns with their individual needs and interests.
Effective communication between children, families, and educators is highly valued at our center. This allows us to identify the strengths of each child and educator, enabling us to enhance their development to the fullest extent.

"My son has been here for a year and a half, he attends 4 days a week and it’s virtually his second home. I have no level of guilt dropping him off as I know he loves going, for so many reasons. The educators are amazing, so caring and child centred, the space is great with lots of outside play, and lots of engaging activities. I love the small community feel to the place and like that it is down the side streets, not on a main road. I would highly recommend."
"Beyond grateful for this amazing centre and their staff. A small family orientated centre, where the staff are flexible and accommodating to meet the needs of the child. Our daughter thrives here and we can see the special relationship she has with her educators. Fantastic outdoor space for the kids to explore and such a community feel."
"My daughter only recently started at Seaton Community Children’s Centre and its been a very smooth transition due to the lovely staff in the babies room. After her first day and after a month we received a print out of pictures which we put on our fridge. my daughter now looks at the sheet and sees her carer asking for Cole (Nicolle) as she enjoys it so much. We felt at ease everyday in the way they handled her food intolerances and made it easier for a nervous mum. I cannot recommend this child care centre that's become like a second home."
"I could not rate this service highly enough! Every carer/educator (including the 'office workers') go out of their way to build a relationship with every single child so that they feel loved by all and can be comforted by anyone who works there if they are upset. They intentionally 'mix' the children at the start and the end of the day so they are interacting and building friendships with everyone who attends. The outdoor space is huge (and I mean HUGE)...and they have a lot of this undercover so the children are outside most of the year (rugged up in winter obviously). They have a mud kitchen, two huge sandpits, REAL grass, gardens that they play in and tend to, a worm farm, slides and countless play equipment. It is a genuine nature play space. And best of all, it's in the back streets and away from the constant traffic/noise and air pollution that most centres experience being on main roads. This isn't a 'for profit' chain, and therefore their ethos is so different, genuine and loving. And parents can join the management committee and have real input into the running of the centre. If you're looking for a place where your kids will feel loved and safe, come here!!!"
"My son has been attending Seaton Community Childcare Centre for over 2 years now and he absolutely loves it! It is a small centre with a community feel. Children spend most of the day outside, there is a nice spacious backyard with lots of shade and lots to keep the little ones busy. The educators are wonderful and you can tell they are genuinely nice people and love the children. The cook is absolutely fantastic - my son always asks for seconds - and they even grow their own veggies and herbs! I bring my little boy there knowing he is happy and well looked after, and I know he will remember this place fondly when he is all grown up."
