Khmer Counselling and Psychotherapy
About the Business
Welcome to Khmer Counselling and Psychotherapy, located at Vivian Court, Para Hills West in Australia. As a prominent establishment in the field of health and a point of interest, we are dedicated to providing exceptional counselling and psychotherapy services.
At Khmer Counselling and Psychotherapy, we are proud to be affiliated with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), a progressive professional peak association of counsellors and psychotherapists with over 11,000 individual members. By joining the ACA, we ensure that our services meet the highest standards and adhere to the association's Code of Ethics & Practice.
Our institution offers a range of benefits to our clients and members. We provide access to peers and ongoing information within specialty areas, allowing us to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in counselling and psychotherapy. Additionally, we offer a variety of accredited counselling courses for those interested in pursuing a career in the field.
Led by Wathnak Vy, a registered counsellor and clinical psychotherapist, our team offers private and confidential counselling services with no referral needed. We understand the importance of flexibility, which is why we offer sessions in English or Khmer (Cambodian) through eCounselling (video call) and TeleCounselling (phone call).
With over six years of experience as a community liaison officer and working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients, Wathnak Vy utilizes various counselling approaches to tailor the treatment to each individual's needs. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Anthropology) and Bachelor of International Development from the University of Adelaide, as well as a Diploma of Counselling from the Australian Institute of Social Relations. Currently, Wathnak is pursuing his Master of Counselling from the prestigious Torrens University in Adelaide.
In addition to his qualifications, Wathnak is a certified NAATI Practitioner in the Khmer language, offering interpreting and translating services. He is a Level 2 Member of the Australian Counselling Association and is recognized as the first registered Cambodian (Khmer) psychotherapist and counsellor in South Australia. Furthermore, Khmer Counselling and Psychotherapy is a Registered NDIS Provider, allowing us to charge directly from NDIS for approved applicants.
We are proud to be a part of the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, demonstrating our commitment to professionalism and quality care. As an institution, we acknowledge and respect the Traditional Custodians of the land throughout Australia and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
