About the Business
Welcome to Hamersley Pool, located at North Beach, West Coast Drive, 213 in Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, Hamersley Pool is a part of the City of Stirling, which manages 7.5km of pristine coastline, reserves, and surf beaches along the stunning Western Australian coast.
One notable feature that sets the City of Stirling apart is that we are the only council in WA that provides year-round lifeguard patrols, ensuring the safety of our community. We take pride in facilitating and overseeing various activities, promotions, events, competitions, and more along our beautiful coastline. However, please note that most activities on our beaches and reserves require approval from the City to ensure compliance with local laws and legislation, as well as the safety of all participants.
To further enhance emergency response times, the City of Stirling has introduced the Beach Emergency Numbers (BEN) system. BEN signs are strategically placed along our beaches, featuring a unique code linked to the sign's location coordinates. In case of an emergency, simply call 000 and provide the unique BEN code and location information on the nearest BEN sign to emergency services. Additionally, if you spot a shark, please report it to Water Police on 9442 8600 and refer to the closest BEN sign.
Our dedicated team of four beach inspectors patrols the City's beaches 365 days a year, ensuring the safety and well-being of all beachgoers. They work closely with the Surf Life Saving Association, and we are proud to have two volunteer surf life-saving clubs operating within the City. These clubs provide a voluntary rescue service on weekends and public holidays from October to March each year.
To maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, the City of Stirling enforces local and state government laws relating to beaches and bathing. It is important to note that alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited on any City of Stirling beaches or reserves, and penalties apply for non-compliance.
In addition to beach-related activities, the City of Stirling also offers a range of services and facilities, including concerts, promotions, product sampling, weddings, photography and filming, personal training, and outdoor fitness classes at the Scarborough Amphitheatre. To book any coastal reserve or beach for such activities, please complete a reserves and beaches booking form.
We invite you to explore our website for more information on beach safety, BEN sign locations, and real-time notifications through the SharkSmart WA app. At Hamersley Pool, we strive to provide a safe and attractive environment that people want to visit and enjoy. With our preventative life-saving measures and first aid assistance, we aim to keep everyone safe and ensure a memorable experience along our stunning coastline.
Lastly, the City of Stirling acknowledges and pays respect to the traditional custodians of this land, the Wadjak people of the Nyoongar Nation. We honor their rich culture, traditions, and the custodianship they hold over this beautiful land.

Reviews
"Love this place. The reef protects you from the nasty animals, keeps the swell down. Lovely little Cove.. Can sleep, read, swim..the water is crystal clear and the reef is a good place to skin dive.."
"Good wind protection and shallow pools protected by reef from large waves. Good for exploring the rocks and searching for shells. Usually quiet and reasonable access although you will have step down through rocks for the last few steps."
"It's just one of the most special spots along the west coast."
"Must try this when the wind is from the East. It's only a postage stamp size of beach but clear and protected."
"There are too many lizards that come out of the rocks especially when you have food. The snake we saw was up on the rocks and we felt a bit unsure so we went down to Mettams which seemed much safer."
