About the Business
Welcome to the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane! Located at 55 Annerley Road in Woolloongabba, our establishment is dedicated to providing health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Brisbane and Logan regions.
As a not-for-profit community owned healthcare and human services organization, ATSICHS Brisbane is committed to meeting the unique needs of our community. We offer a wide range of services, including medical and dental clinics, child and family health services, youth services, social and emotional wellbeing programs, a midwifery hub, an aged care facility, and various family and child support services.
In May 2023, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at Brisbane City Hall, commemorating 50 years of proudly serving our community. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Honorable Leeanne Enoch MP, Minister for Communities and Housing, Minister for the Digital Economy, and Minister for the Arts.
This week, we shine a spotlight on our Youth Services team. We had the opportunity to speak with Outreach Manager Pita, who shared insights into his role and the importance of supporting our young people. Pita, who was born and raised in Brisbane, has a deep connection to the community and is passionate about making a positive impact.
At ATSICHS Brisbane, we believe in empowering our community members. Kane, a proud Torres Strait Islander and recipient of the Young, Black and Proud Scholarship, is a testament to this belief. Kane, who was awarded the scholarship in 2023, is currently representing Australia in the World Distance Championships in Samoa as part of the Australian Under 16s Outrigging team. His journey showcases the opportunities and achievements that can be attained through our support.
We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Turrbal, Yuggera, and Yugambeh people as the Traditional Custodians of the Country where we operate. We honor and recognize the contributions of Elders, both past and present.
Please note that this website may contain names, images, and voices of deceased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as we aim to preserve and celebrate their rich heritage.
Thank you for visiting our website, and we look forward to serving you and our community with our comprehensive health and wellbeing services.

"Very thorough health service for indigenous people. However it is very hard to been seen on short notice or if you have a minor or acute illness or a Doctors certificate. I've been on cancellation list for 5 days so far just for a Doctors certificate for pre existing condition. Very frustrating!"
"Worst medical services out there, all ways a waiting time, Mabye coz to many white's"
"Only thing aboriginal in the place. The staff at the front desk used as a front. . Behind the scenes. English box tickers claiming indigenous health funding. I have been attending for a few years with the same problem on and off. No diagnosis or no resolution. But when it comes to health checks or anything they can put down on paper to claim for funding. They will do that in a heart beat. But not get to the bottom of the medical issue you went in for in the first place. 5 years 5 health checks they claimed funding for giving the all clear on paper. But sent home and can hardly move for 5 years . So much for clear health cheques. GPs get paid good money for those health checks. Those false health checks are theire bread and butter. I will not be going back. I have also spoken with previous employees who once worked there and said they walked because they did not like what the big bosses were doing to their people. The place is all about funding. It's why they have to keep rotating bosses and managers every 6 months. This place is one huge rort.. If I could give it minus stars I would. Iv gone back into the mainstream health system. Me or my family are never going back to this centre. They are just in those positions to get access to indigenous health funds and keep put people on NDIS when possible. I would most likely be better off using Artificial intelligence to self diagnose in future. Auditors really need to go and investigate them with a fine tooth comb. That place would have to be the biggest indigenous medical rort in Queensland. Indigenous funds always go to the box tickers."
"I have been attending this centre since the start of the year and can not fault them at all. The reception are great and always trying to help you out as much as possible. All the doctors and specialist I have seen at the clinic have been outstanding. Been a huge struggle finding medical help in Brisbane, very friendly and comfortable environment and very thankful for their help"
