At our establishment, we offer classes for both pre-mobile and mobile babies every Friday at Byron Mamas Hub in Byron Bay. Unlike traditional age-based grouping, we focus on grouping infants based on their mobility levels, allowing for inclusivity and accommodating different developmental timelines.

Our classes are scheduled in eight-week terms, allowing children to build trust and familiarity with the space. While it's common for families to miss a session or two due to unforeseen circumstances, the length of the term ensures a consistent experience for most participants. Classes continue until your child turns three or until they are ready for a different environment.

To ensure routine and continuity of care, we request that families commit to attending weekly classes. We understand that unexpected situations may arise, so please inform us in advance if you are unable to attend. By establishing a predictable environment and consistent companionship, children learn to feel safe and develop a sense of trust with their peers.

Our RIE-style Playgroup follows a structured format. After a warm-up period, caregivers observe as infants engage with safe and developmentally appropriate play objects. Interruptions are kept to a minimum, unless your child requires your attention or if the facilitator needs to ensure their safety.

Following the play session, we engage in a conversation about what we observed, allowing parents to ask questions about RIE parenting and infant development. The pace of our classes is intentionally slow, calm, and mindful, creating a supportive and informative atmosphere.

Registration includes one adult and one child, with a limit of eight families per class. As part of the registration process, you will be required to download and listen to "Your Self Confident Baby" or purchase and read the paperback, which serves as our initial educaring resource.

Families joining our classes typically participate until their child reaches their third birthday. The fee for each term is $360, payable via credit card, electronic funds transfer, or cash. While we understand that missing a class may happen, refunds cannot be provided for missed sessions, and make-up classes are not available, unless the facilitator cancels a class.

At Raquel Tara's RIE Style Parent-Infant Guidance Classes, you will experience an intimate and nurturing environment with a small group of infants and their parents. Prior to the start of class, a complimentary zoom consultation chat is provided to discuss class expectations and get to know each other.

Raquel Tara, our Baby Sleep & Development Specialist, is a graduate of RIE® Foundations and a soon-to-be pathways participant. With over 20 years of experience as a maternity nanny specializing in infant sleep and development, extensive studies in RIE and infant psychology, and a qualification from The Gottman Institute, Raquel Tara is a highly experienced voice in the field.

Our classes will be held at The Byron Mamas Hub in The Byron Bay Industrial Estate, Byron Bay, New South Wales. Parents are advised to bring all necessary items for their child's care and well-being, such as diapers, bottles, and water. We provide a change room, nursing spaces, and both on and off-street parking. Play materials and a safe exploration area for your child will be provided by Raquel Tara.

Please note that registration and payment are non-refundable. Class sizes are limited to eight infants per developmental stage, and sessions will continue throughout the year, adapting to the maturation of the group. Meet-up times may be subject to change based on the needs and availability of the children and facilitator.
