It is also the proud host of Big Gay Day, Brisbane's largest LGBTQIA festival. As a heritage listed venue, The Wickham has recently undergone a fabulous refurbishment, blending its glorious past with a modern touch.

"August 2023: The Wickham, the sophisticated sibling of the Brisbane Queer scene. Wonderful refurbishment subtly hints on sophistication and the well heeled. The service is brilliant. The drag shows, some of the best in the valley. Definitely a place to be seen and to mingle with like-minded professionals."

"Great venue and nice staff but the worst food I’ve ever eaten in a pub! And it wasn’t cheap either. Pizza tasted like it was made with tomato soup and was soggy, warm nuts were stale and the fish was dry and tasted like it was cooked in dirty old oil. Eat before you go here"

"We just want to take a moment to thank our waiter Army and waitress Grace for their exceptional service. The dining experience is great because of them! However, I must express my disappointment with the bartender’s service, the drinks were poorly made, and when I mentioned it, he seemed disinterested and unresponsive. The bartenders were unengaged with customers, we spent just over two hours at the Wickham, we hope this feedback can be taken into consideration to improve the service for future customers."
