"I recently dined at this pub that had garnered quite a reputation for its chicken parma. While I found the chicken parma to be a bit overrated and not quite up to the hype, the experience was significantly elevated by the exceptional staff and the fantastic ambiance of the venue. The chicken parma, which had been touted as a must-try, unfortunately fell short of my expectations. The flavor was decent, but the dish seemed to lack the wow factor I had anticipated. Despite the disappointment in the main course, the rest of the dining experience was truly enjoyable. The staff at the pub were undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring guests have a great time were truly commendable. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and catered to, turning what could have been a lackluster meal into a memorable visit. The venue itself exuded a delightful ambiance and a lively vibe. The interior decor was tastefully done, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The pub managed to strike a perfect balance between a relaxed setting and an energetic buzz. It's the kind of place where you can unwind with friends after a long day or enjoy a cheerful night out. In terms of pricing, the pub hit a mid-range mark, offering good value for the overall experience. While the chicken parma might not have been the star of the show, the exceptional service and the vibrant atmosphere more than made up for it. If you're looking for a place with a great vibe, friendly staff, and are willing to explore beyond the hyped dish, this pub is definitely worth a visit."
"Nestled in the serene heart of what appears to be a small country village, The Grand Hotel Warrandyte is a destination that brims with character, great service, and abundant portions. It's no wonder this spot is beloved by weekend travelers searching for a quaint and cozy retreat. Upon our recent visit, we were there to celebrate an extended family member's 50th birthday. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming. The homely decor with a charming rustic touch lent an air of comfortable familiarity, as if inviting us to make ourselves at home. The dining experience was an adventure in itself. As newcomers, we were good-naturedly warned by other patrons not to over-order due to the generous sizes of the meals. This warning turned out to be truer than we could have anticipated, and as the food arrived, it was a sight to behold. We were met with portions large enough to challenge the hungriest of appetites. Yet, it wasn't just the size of the meals that left an impression. The culinary delights that the hotel presented were a feast for the taste buds. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with pleasing and satisfying flavours. Despite the excellent food and the delightful setting, it was an outstanding service that truly set The Grand Hotel Warrandyte apart. The staff were courteous, attentive, and notably efficient. They made our celebration all the more special with their readiness to assist and their genuinely friendly demeanour. In terms of pricing, the hotel sits comfortably in the average range. Considering the ample portions and the quality of service, we felt we received excellent value for our money. The hotel also offers an impressive venue for weddings, boasting two large areas upstairs, one of which overlooks the main road and river, making for a picturesque backdrop. To sum up, our visit to The Grand Hotel Warrandyte was an experience of homely comfort, culinary abundance, and warm hospitality. It was a celebration that will remain in our memories for years to come. So, if you're in the area and looking for a place that offers a unique dining experience or an idyllic spot for a special event, The Grand Hotel Warrandyte should be on your list."
"I went there after a long day at the snow and craving for hot warm and meaty food. Ordered the beef cheek, pea soup and penang curry. The marshy thing under the beef cheek was cold, the rice of the curry was cold, the pea soup has a fungi taste. The place has no signals for our phone but theres a QR code to scan the menu. How can I use it without signal, internet or wifi? Very disappointed"
"A glorious pub to visit. Lots of different rooms and places to eat. Service was also every good and the food was astonishingly good. I got the chicken curry and was excellent."
