FV Brisbane by Peppers 191 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland 4006

"The only redeeming factor was location. We booked 5 different rooms over a long weekend for our family, thus bringing them a lot of business. Rooms and hallways on lower floors were lack luster due to it being the older part of the building, stained carpets and marked walls. Everyone's room had faults/broken. Taps literally came out of the wall, windows had broken blinds so enjoy having lights beaming in your window all night, shower drains were clogged and overflowed, front door didn't close unless you physically pulled it, not sound proof enough. Could hear music and noise from neighbouring venues. Staff were accommodating yet inconsistent with their rules."

"I have been to many hotels in my day but never one with such terrible service and genuine rudeness as this one - waking up at 8 am with a blearing fire alarm and 5 contractors who let themselves into my room. Would not recommend to anyone coming to Brisbane. If I could give zero stars I would."

"We stayed on the very end of the Flatiron and it was amazing! The views were stunning and it had a little balcony. Get the upgrade to this room - it is well worth it. Nestled in the heart of Fortitude Valley there were seemingly infinite options for entertainment and food and beverages. The room was spacious and comfortable and there were basic cooking options, should you desire those facilities. It was well appointed and clean. There were lots of towels and hand towels and bathroom lotions and potions. There were basic options in the tv, with free to air and some Foxtel channels. But, the wifi wasn’t free and upon checkout the staff that we encountered weren’t particularly interested in serving us. When we checking in, however, they were great. These are only little things though."

"We came to Peppers to check out the pool and gym facilities for our wedding in December. Prior to booking it for ourselves and 30+ guests we wanted to take a quick look around. When we entered reception we were greeted by 2 staff members who were less than happy to help. One told us to check out the photos online. When we explained that we had travelled to the city specifically to check out potential hotels for our wedding, the other stated that they might be able to show us when they were less busy. They then proceeded to talk amongst themselves for a further 10 minutes. We left. Customer service, or lack thereof was disgusting. Not the high quality service that I would normally associate Peppers with being. Decision made very easy thanks to those 2 on the front desk. We'll take our business elsewhere. Alex Perry Hotel to be exact."

"I’d give it five stars if it wasn’t for the putrid smell in the hallways on most if not all levels. Need to run from the lift to the apartment and quickly open the door whilst holding my breath. Leaving that aside I can’t fault it. Receptionists are very polite and welcoming the building aesthetics are pleasing the location is central and the apartments themselves are spacious and beds pillows etc are comfortable."
