Peninsula Community Legal Centre
About the Business
Welcome to Peninsula Community Legal Centre, located at 441 Nepean Highway, Frankston, Australia. As a point of interest and establishment, we are dedicated to providing free legal advice to individuals who live, work, or study in the municipalities of Frankston, Casey, Cardinia, Glen Eira, Kingston, and Mornington Peninsula. Our Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program extends our services to a larger catchment area.
At Peninsula Community Legal Centre, we believe in empowering individuals to protect and advance their rights through the use of the law. Our experienced team of lawyers offers free advice on a wide range of legal issues, including family law, family violence, fines, tenancy, and rooming house advocacy. We particularly focus on assisting clients who are experiencing disadvantage.
In addition to providing legal advice, we actively engage in community legal education, community engagement, and law reform activities. We take pride in being an active member of various community and sector networks, continuously working towards a fair and just legal system.
Our services cover a broad spectrum of legal matters, including family law, criminal law, and civil law. If you have a court matter scheduled for the day, our duty lawyers are available to provide assistance. We also offer support to individuals seeking urgent applications.
For those facing legal issues arising from family violence, Peninsula Community Legal Centre is here to help. We provide assistance and advice on matters such as division of property after separation, separation and divorce, and victims of crime applications.
Outstanding fines can be a burden, but our team is here to assist you. Whether it's dealing with driving on toll roads without an e-tag, parking fines, or public transport fines, we are well-equipped to guide you through the process.
If you are a private tenant, rooming house resident, or caravan park resident in the Southern Metropolitan and Bayside Peninsula regions, we offer dedicated support tailored to your needs.
Peninsula Community Legal Centre also runs several specialist programs, including the StreetLaw Coffee Van, Work and Development Permit (WDP) Scheme, and Strengthening Legal Pathways for CALD Women. Our Family Law Service Delivery program ensures that families receive the assistance they require during challenging times.
We prioritize helping those who are experiencing disadvantage, ensuring that everyone has equal access to justice. Allow us to share a couple of stories that exemplify the impact we have made:
Daisy came to us after separating from her partner, Josh, due to allegations of family violence. Josh claimed that Daisy's allegations were a result of a genetic neurological disease she had. Despite facing pressure to be tested, Daisy stood her ground, refusing to give in, as her relatives had tragically died from the same disease.
Peter, an intelligent and well-educated man, struggled with alcohol addiction, which hindered his chances of securing employment in his chosen career. When he first approached us, Peter was homeless, living in his car, and facing outstanding fines and criminal charges related to his alcohol use.
COVID-19 had a significant impact on Annika's employment. She sought our assistance with a rent reduction agreement she had made with her landlord, along with outstanding repairs. However, the agreement included a rent deferral, meaning Annika would have to pay the difference between the reduced rent and the usual amount at the end of the agreement.
At Peninsula Community Legal Centre, we are committed to providing quality legal assistance to those in need. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and the community as a whole. Contact us today to avail our services and protect your rights.

"Their services are free and you STILL don’t get what you pay for. Misandristic “lawyers” with extremely questionable ethics. I feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck with these incompetents, you’d be better off self-representing!"

"I had a great experience with Peninsula Community Legal Centre. I had Teddy represent me who was very professional, very calm and approachable. He made effort to get to know about me. Teddy, knowing I was anxious for the court proceedings, made sure I was supported. It was a great outcome and I thank Peninsula Community Legal Centre for their work. Thank you!"
"I spoke with Lucy. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Hoping she will act for me when I appear in January. . Update. Jennifer acted for myself and my parents. She was a nuclear bomb and we just think she's wonderful. Really great lot off people here who go above and beyond."
