Lakeside Psychology
About the Business
Welcome to Lakeside Psychology, a private psychology clinic located in Pakenham, in the outer south east of Melbourne, Australia. We are dedicated to providing help and support for individuals of all ages who are facing personal and emotional challenges, as well as psychological disorders.
At Lakeside Psychology, we offer a wide range of services including individual counselling, couples counselling, psychoeducational assessment, early intervention for autism, group programs, and community events. Our team is driven by a genuine passion to assist individuals in overcoming their difficulties and moving towards a more connected and meaningful future.
Our clinic prides itself on creating a comfortable and safe environment for all our clients. We understand that facing personal challenges can be daunting, and we are here to help you navigate through them. We consider it a privilege to walk alongside you during difficult times, and we strive to ensure that all the work we do together is effective by utilizing evidence-based treatments.
Our team of psychologists draws from various treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family-Based Therapy (FBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). While our field may use a lot of acronyms, all of our work is underpinned by attachment theory. Attachment theory teaches us that we all have a fundamental need to feel safe, important, loved, and connected. However, different experiences and circumstances can disrupt these needs, leading to psychological distress. By applying attachment theory, we help our clients understand their experiences and distress, and guide them towards recovery and sustained change, while also fostering opportunities for future growth.
If you are a psychologist, counsellor, accredited mental health social worker, or occupational therapist seeking employment, we offer permanent full-time or part-time positions with flexible work arrangements. Join our diverse team and contribute your passion and skills to our mission of helping those in need.
In addition to our individual services, we also offer group programs such as "FOOD WITHOUT FUSS" which focuses on helping children overcome eating problems. Led by Leah Henzen, a psychologist at Lakeside Psychology, this program aims to develop a healthy relationship with food for young individuals, ensuring that eating remains a simple pleasure that everyone can enjoy.
At Lakeside Psychology, we are committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals and families in the Pakenham area and beyond. Contact us today to schedule an appointment and take the first step towards a brighter future.

Reviews
"Absolutely lovely staff here, their commitment to hearing the feedback of patients really makes this place stand out, the psychologists go out of their way to tailor everything to your needs and wants as most places should, but really don't."
"I saw a Clinical Psych here, for 2 years. He was helpful, kind and polite. But, at the end of the day, even on a Mental Health Plan, MONEY was the hiccup that stopped me from getting the help I need. Meh."
