We are thrilled to announce the success of the new weekly food and garden bin service in Knox. Since its implementation, residents have already halved the amount of rubbish going to landfill and diverted a staggering 1900 tonnes of food scraps and other organics to be transformed into compost. By participating in this initiative, we can all make a significant impact on reducing waste and preserving our environment.

We are also proud to highlight the efforts of a Ferntree Gully family of seven who are actively making small changes to reduce waste. As Council implements the weekly food and garden service, this family is playing their part in turning food and garden waste into compost. Their commitment serves as an inspiration to us all, showing that even the smallest actions can make a significant difference.

Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians of the City of Knox, the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We recognize and value their ongoing connection to the land and their rich cultural heritage.
