"This dealership is 5 mins from my house. Purchased a Ranger 2 weeks ago from another dealer. Called up last week trying to speak to someone to book it in for the 3000km complimentary service. No one ever called me back. Called up again this morning and not able to get through to service department and was told someone would call me back, I mentioned I was told the same thing last week and noone called back. Anyhow they did call back this time. Enquired about booking in for the 3000km service, and was asked if it was under or over the 3000km. Mentioned it was just over now. Straight away went into a speel about because I didnt purchase the vehicle there, they would have to charge for the service. I mentioned I tried to call last week when it was under the 3000km but no one returned my call after leaving a message with reception, and was hastely told that it doesn't matter anyway as they are 2-3 weeks out for any service bookings anyway. I said thats great so I should have booked it in for the 3000km service before i'd even purchased the vehicle. Was told when I purchased the vehicle that, its easy to book for 3000km service as its a quick one. Was asked by Central Coast Ford whether I would like to make a booking for a service, I told them forgot it, ill drive it 4hrs back to where I purchased it and get it serviced there. Called up the purchasing dealer, and they booked me in for whenever I wanted. When purchasing this ranger I didnt even bother to speak with Central Coast Ford about getting a quote as I had a bad experience with a super pushy salesman last time there, when I was looking to purchase my last ranger. Thought i'd give them second chance."
"Very disappointed.!! I took my Ford Ranger here recently to have it serviced. When i returned home, i noticed oil dripping onto my garage floor. I returned it to Booths after the weekend to have it cleaned properly. I then enquired if the "checked all fluids" item which was on the list of items they check, related to the Differential oils, which i was told it does. ( i noticed they had not touched the plug in the rear diff while i was under my car investigating where the oil was coming from). In front of me, the staff member asked the mechanic to take a look clean it down and check the Diff oil, apologized to me for the "oversite" and offered me a coffee while i waited. The vehicle was then returned to me approx 20 mins later. I was informed that it was all good, Diff oils had now been checked and the car was cleaned down underneath. (There was no oil leak, it just had not been washed down after the oil filter was replaced). When i returned home, i again checked the rear Diff plug only to find that it had not been touched. I then removed the plug myself to find that the oil was actually white, indicating that it had been contaminated with water. I rang Booths the following morning and let them know of my disappointment at what had transpired. The Service Manager rang me in the afternoon and then proceeded to explain to me that the "checked all fluids" item on the list was not 'worded' correctly. That this needed to be changed and it doesn't relate to 4wd vehicles. It appears he is the only one who believes this as the Mechanic and the customer service guy were not aware of it at the time. I was offered a free replacement of Diff oils etc. as a compromise, although this was declined as i believed if they couldn't get it right the first 2 times, the trust was not there for a 3rd attempt. I took it down to a local mechanic who replaced the Diff oils etc. for me. To add insult to injury...While it was up on the hoist, he alerted me to a split CV boot on my LHS CV shaft. This was also missed by the "Ford trained technicians" even though "check CV boots" was another service item on their list of things they charged me for that day. This car is still under warranty, and it scares me to think that if i had not checked their work, that this would have been thrown back at me and warranty declined when the diff broke down. I requested that they refund me the Labour content of the service as it has cost me more in time/money to get this all sorted out. They have refunded me the Labour cost as promised although this in no way excuses the potential cost this had could have had if i had not second guessed them. People spend a lot on purchasing and looking after their cars, they take it to the manufacturer because they believe they are getting "the best" service available for their vehicle and even pay more for it. This experience has made me very aware of what are commonly known as stealerships, i urge people find a local mechanic and stay clear of them."
