"Very unprofessional organisation. Didn't pay my superannuation, constant miscommunication and pay disputes. They take advantage of younger people and have very few experienced people. I coached for years with MSI, when they were just operating out of a house. I didn't think of it as working for them as they are just a very bad administrator for the schools who are the ones you regularly see on the job. In particular I'd like to highlight Natalie as being very unprofessional, treating me punitively in regards to not allocating or emailing jobs that came up as I pointed out her many errors in regards to pay. Her manner was unprofessional and as I have seen from some other reviews, it was a shared experience. I left a similar review last year which prompted the owner to call and make multiple promises. Ultimately not one was kept. One being the admission of Natalie's flaws and I would not have to deal with her directly, another to get me some jobs. When something did come up and I messaged him, I was told I should be contacting Natalie. Avoid! Not worth the time or investment. Eg required as a coach to pay for working with childrens check, first aid and they want you to buy a uniform."
"The Sport Institute did not pay me fee for my work due messy situation with school. Their excuse was someone from school said the umpire (myself) didn't turn up. Becarefull with them."
"I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at MSI. Unlike other sporting organisations where you are allocated games to referee, MSI allows you to select matches which is beneficial for University students like myself who constantly have changing schedules. I found the staff to be professional, friendly and very responsive. I would highly recommend working and engaging with MSI!"
"Fixtures are filled with minutes on a first-come-first-serve basis by email so it is extremely hard to get consistent work. Also haven't received any emails about any fixtures for several months now, even after emailing the staff I have received no reply."
"Unprofessional. They hire coaches and refs last minute that have no idea about the sport (especially for futsal and soccer). As a worker I saw unbelievable situations with the other employees , and the manager threatened me for no reason. My experience working for MSI may be worse than average but I would never hire their services anyways, it was a disaster. I’d rather contact the right federation in my case: Handball Victoria."
