"Ive been doing an electrical apprenticeship here and i wish i didnt. Place is hopeless. Had 8 different teachers in a year due to them quitting. No one can help you. They just pass you to different departments. The poor communication here has resulted in me being months behind on an apprenticeship which now affects my pay. My class was instructed to take selfies with the teacher and your exam because teachers were losing them and temps were wrongly marking results. Rmit couldnt tell me what day my class starts so i just went to rmit and started knocking on doors until i found a class that was teaching what i needed and asked if i could sit in. By the time rmit got back to me i had already completed what i needed and had i waited for them i would have missed the class and had to wait another year. DO NOT GO TO RMIT"
"I have never been so disappointed with an educational institution until I enrolled in RMIT University's Building Design course. From the beginning, the experience has been an absolute nightmare. First and foremost, the quality of teaching in this course is abysmal. The instructors seem disinterested and lack expertise in their subject matter. They fail to provide clear guidance and often give conflicting explanations, leaving me feeling lost and confused most of the time. It's disheartening to invest so much time and money into a course only to be let down by incompetent educators. Furthermore, the time table for this course is a complete disaster. It is poorly organized, resulting in wasted hours and a significant loss of productive time. The inconsistency and constant changes to the schedule make it nearly impossible to plan and manage other commitments efficiently. It's frustrating and infuriating to have your time constantly disrespected and disregarded. To anyone considering enrolling in RMIT's Building Design course, I strongly advise against it. The lack of competent teachers and the ineffective time table will undoubtedly hinder your learning experience. It's unfortunate that such a reputable university falls short in providing a quality educational environment in this particular course. I regret my decision to pursue this program at RMIT and wish I had chosen a different institution. I strongly urge prospective students to explore alternative options that prioritize competent teaching staff and effective scheduling."
"It's changed alot here!!! When I did my VCE course back in 1998, we had a building outer Elizabeth street upper Victoria Street avenue and we had nothing. Just one old orange building with a short staircase entrance and that was it. Just 5 floors and not even a place to buy lunch, sure you could take a walk to Vic Market or the city but that'll never make a 5 to 8 minute break though...We had nothing to next to no facilities but we made the best of it and my memories remain here. And these days you have students complain about a lack of gender awareness in bathrooms lolz. I do miss the general academic book which is nowhere to be found anymore..."
"The Student connect cannot provide any help and they just treat me like a ball kicking between different departments. You have to wait in the very long queue and finally they told you nothing they can do with arrogant attitude."
"Had a staff member follow me to the toilets and query me about the use of the toilet (whilst I was in the toilet). I reported this to Student Connect and they said they couldn't do anything about it. They very much could have obtained camera footage of the incident and held the staff member accountable. RMIT isn't a safe space for disabled or gender diverse people."
