Welcome to 1 in 20, a charming cafe nestled at the foothills of the Dandenongs in Australia. Situated on Mountain Highway in The Basin, our cafe is a beloved destination for locals, tourists, and various enthusiasts including bike riders and car lovers.

At 1 in 20, our goal is to create a friendly and welcoming environment where you can enjoy the best coffee, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. Our name, 1 in 20, holds a special meaning as it refers to the gradient of Mountain Highway up to Sassafras, a well-known route for cyclists. Interestingly, Mountain Highway was actually called One In Twenty Road for a brief period in 1937, a fact that many may not be aware of.

What sets us apart is our exceptional team. We take pride in having a skilled and passionate team of three fully qualified chefs and a talented pastry chef, who also happens to be an amazing barista. Together, they create a range of delectable dishes and pastries made in-house. Our baristas have received direct training from The Bean Cartel, ensuring that our coffee tastes just as it was intended.

In addition to our regular menu, we also offer take-home dinner options. This week, you can enjoy our Gnocchi with lamb shank ragu, available in a convenient 1kg vacuum pack for $35. We also have Bolognaise and Pumpkin options priced at $28 and $30 respectively. If you're looking for a warm and hearty meal, our family-sized meat lasagna is the perfect choice.

To celebrate The Basin Music Festival, we're offering take-away cocktails for just $15. Choose between an Aperol Spritz or an Espresso Martini, made with our exceptional The Bean Cartel beans. We're also fully stocked with Killer Sprocket beer, so you can enjoy a refreshing drink while enjoying the festival. On the menu, we have delicious pizzas and in-house smoked meat to satisfy your cravings.

Thanks to The Bean Cartel, we recently upgraded our coffee machine to ensure that we consistently serve a killer cup of coffee. We also take pride in using amazing local honey from The Basin Backyard in our house-made Honey Jumbles, a must-try treat.

At 1 in 20, we love dogs, so if you work here, be prepared for some furry visitors. We adore our four-legged friends, as you can see from the photo of the adorable dog with big feet.
