"Nice generic '1980's' Chinese. A bit noisy. Good service. All the Cantonese classics, nicely done. Parking is pretty bad, expect to have to walk quite a way unless you're lucky."
"We come here for yum cha often because the service is excellent. Staff are friendly and food is great. It is a smaller place than the bigger yum cha restaurants but atmosphere is good. They don't come around with trolleys of food but you order your meals. Still a good selection of yum cha foods. Food comes out hot which is good. We recommend this place."
"This place is shamefully under-rated and has far less business than it deserves. Maybe because the restaurant is so hard to find and it is easy to drive right past it on Princess Highway. Fried whitebait: 5/5. Like fish and chips but much better. Hum Soi Kok: 4/5. Pastry a little too thick, but texture was perfect and the filling inside had the right amount of 5 spice powder. Shin Chook Kuen (vegetables wrapped in tofu skins): 5/5. Perfect. Shumai: 5/5. Nothing to complain about. Chicken Feet: 5/5. Subtly flavoured, perfectly cooked. Radish pancakes: 5/5. Nicely fried with a great contrast between crispy skin and soft insides. Lotus leaf wrapped glutinous rice: 4/5. Unfortunately it was overcooked and the rice was soggy. Salted egg buns: 5/5. Excellent. Ambience: very few customers so we got a lot of attention. This place is bright, clean, and the staff are friendly. Downsides: not as much variety as other dimsum places. If you are looking for offal and more "interesting" dishes, you won't find it here."
"This little gem tucked away in a corner of a major intersection in Chadstone/Oakleigh is worth a visit. If you want to snag a parking space, then maybe come for an early dinner. The food is really good, but parking can be a problem. I've been several times over the years here, and the food is always consistently good and satisfying. The service is sometimes a little slow and not always do the meals come out at the same time. There has been a time or two in the past when one person at the table was forced to eat ahead of the others because their meals weren't out, and it kind of defeats the purpose of going to eat out together, but of late, it has vastly improved. Perhaps they've changed hands, but either way, it's definitely better than years ago (so give it another try if that put you off coming here). I usually order the Battered Chicken in Mandarin Sauce (pictured here but without capsicum, which is why it looks bare), or the Chicken Fried Rice. Also pictured here is the Deep Fried Ice Cream which I love. Not the best I've ever had, but quite good for sure. I think the pricing of the food is good, the polite - if not spotty - service is good (overall), and it's not one of those restaurants where you're rushed out of the door. If you're looking for homey/comforting Chinese food, then this is the place to come!"
