Owners John and Anthony Giarratana have a deep passion for family, friends, and food, which is why owning a family restaurant is a dream come true for them. In fact, the name "il sogno" translates to "the dream" in Italian. This hot little spot is sure to please, whether you're looking for a place to spend a night out with the family or just a casual catch up with friends.

Chef/owner Anthony Giarratana brings years of experience working at and with the best in both Italy and Australia. He was formally trained at Il Bacaro under Riccardo Momesso and has worked at several fine dining establishments in Melbourne and Italy, including Grossi Florentino with renowned Chef Guy Grossi.

Our menu at il sogno features an assortment of delicately prepared dishes, including traditional homemade fresh pasta made daily, beautifully cooked Italian risottos, meats, and seafood. Chef Anthony and his team also add their own modern accents to each dish, creating a unique dining experience.

We always have an eye for fresh seasonal produce, allowing us to highlight seasonal ingredients in our selections. Our specials menu features offerings such as truffles (black and white) and white asparagus, subject to availability.

Located in Surrey Hills, just 20 kilometers from the city, il sogno is an intimate restaurant that can accommodate up to 50 people. Our decor is inspired by our personal experiences in Italy, including photos from our hometown of Sorrento on the Bay of Naples. We hope this adds to the overall ambiance and understanding of our roots.
