Bullen Bullen Cultural Tours
About the Business
Welcome to Bullen Bullen Cultural Tours, located at 70 Monbulk Road, Kallista, Victoria, Australia. As the Traditional Custodians of Melbourne and the surrounding lands, we, the Wurundjeri people, have been caring for Country since its creation by Bunjil, the great Eagle, and Balliyang the bat. Our institution proudly continues to preserve our culture and welcomes all visitors to our lands.
For school groups of 25 or more students, we offer a unique and educational experience from Monday to Friday by appointment. Students will have the opportunity to embark on a Wurundjeri guided tour of the Margaret Leister Trail and engage in indigenous activities such as crushing ochre, creating emu feather art, hand printing, charcoal coloring, and exploring an artifact display.
During your visit, you'll have the chance to partake in the ancient tradition of Tanderrum, a ceremony that welcomes guests to Country. By walking through sacred smoke and accepting our hospitality, you agree to respect and care for Country, the land, the lore, and us, the children of Bunjil, throughout your stay.
Immerse yourself in the traditional lifestyle of our Ancestors as you learn about the rhythms, rituals, and relationships between people and place. Discover our cultural values and the influential leaders who continue to guide us, such as Wonga and Barak.
Prepare to heighten your senses and open your heart to Country. Experience the sights, smells, tastes, touches, and sounds that embody the music of Country. Learn about our lore, traditional foods, fibers, and the unique uses of our plants and animals.
Bullen Bullen Cultural Tours is operated by the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation. By supporting our tours, you are not only exploring our rich heritage but also contributing to the maintenance of our cultural practices and the strengthening of our community through traineeships and employment opportunities on Country.
Please note that our tours require a minimum of 2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children. All children must be accompanied by a fee-paying adult.
To find us, simply travel east along Burwood Highway from the city until you reach Upper Ferntree Gully. Continue up the mountain to Belgrave, pass through the shops and roundabout onto Monbulk Road. You'll find us at Grants Picnic Ground, just five minutes along the road on the right-hand side. Refer to the adjacent map for more detailed directions.
For any inquiries or bookings, please contact us at 0401 902 321 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
We look forward to sharing the beauty and richness of our culture with you.

Reviews
"Beautiful place to sit on the deck when the sun shines and have some breakfast with the kookaburras. Such a nice environment."
"Amazing afternoon at the restaurant with great food, super nice staff and great atmosphere. The food was super nice and a great selection almost too hard to decide what to eat first. Homemade cakes are amazing too!"
"There are gifts and souvenirs with a precise selection of items, as well as ice cream, and the restaurant part also provides meals and drinks."
"The garlic bread is okay, and the pumpkin soup is a bit sour. The french fries are salty, but it's okay, but the chicken wings aren't tasty.. It's exclusive, so it's expensive."
