Our atmosphere embodies the cheerful meeting and eating places that have been an integral part of Shanghai living.
Our menu features a signature range of noodles, dumplings, and other dishes that reflect the genuine flavors and traditional cooking techniques of Shanghai. Each dish is carefully prepared to ensure an authentic taste experience that will transport you straight to the streets of Shanghai.

"The foods overall were nice, tasty (some are too salty), big portion. The salt and pepper tofu, crispy chicken were nice, but the crumbs were too salty. The yang chao fried rice was yummy and perfect. The Szechuan style spicy beef was great too, the taste and spicy level were perfect, I added the pancakes to wrap it, and it’s very good combination when the pancakes are still hot. The service was good, you have to take the number (paper) next to the door before you queue, the queue was long but not too long to wait till our number got called. We got table outside, and still good to have outside as the weather was not too cold. But it was a bit dark so not able to see the food clearly. Just a suggestion for the owner, probably provide water jugs so people don’t need to walk in and out just to take water. Overall the visit were good and would come again if I am around."
"It’s the perfect median between food court and a high end Chinese meal - and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! It’s priced well and the food is tasty! I went with a group of 5 people and we spent $160, ordering 7 dishes in total plus a large pot of tea. The food won’t blow you away but it hits the spot if you’re craving a higher end Chinese and not just your local takeaway. The place was busy on a Friday night but the food came out quickly and the service was great! Can’t complain! Add this one to the list of your local go-to Chinese restaurant with a group of mates."
"Food here is always amazing! Service tonight was lovely. Highly recommend the fried rice, dumplings, cumin lamb & barramundi fish.Always book as they are nearly always fully booked out."
"I was surprised to see the reviews on this place so low as we actually quite enjoyed the food! I feel you can't go wrong with this place as the food in the Taste of Shaghai/New Shanghai group is usually pretty good. I was surprised. However, this place doesn't offer pork belly, which is unusual. A chinese restaurant doesn't have this on the menu"
"Nice handmade dumplings and noodles. It’s good to have a quality Chinese restaurant in Castle Hill. Safe to walk in. There are some fantastic Chinese restaurants in Sydney and Taste of Shanghai is one of the decent ones. I’ve ordered a wide range of dishes from dumplings to Mapo tofu and although not all the dishes hit the mark, I’ve enjoyed the dining experience. The service was fast and efficient, and interior was nice and clean. For these reasons I give this place 3 bears"
