"I wish I had of read you post Isabella. I have just gone through an identical situation today with my dog Lily. I left, she was constantly rubbing her eye. I pulled over 5 minutes down the road, and her eye looked exactly the same as your poor dog. I went straight back to the salon and questioned the 3 ladies working there. Their sheepish comment to me was that she must of just scratched it as she just had her nails clipped. I didn’t buy it and refused to stand there watching the 3 of them try to find something to blame other than their workmanship. I made a phone call to the amazing Hoppers Crossing Vet Clinic and they squeezed me in straight away. The vet ran a dye test which concluded that her vision is approximately 70% compromised, suspected with a substance, such as a chemical. I have bought her home on 2 different tablets and an eye drop. The vet said to me that he can’t confirm that it happened at the groomers but logic says to him (and me) that if her eyes were fine when I dropped her off and I all but went straight to the vets after I picked her up, good chance it has occurred whilst she was in their care. She will have a return check up at the vets on Monday and I will know if her eyes are improving with the treatment!! So angry. These people need to realise they are attending to one of our family members and we expect nothing but the best for them. If only they had of told me that something has happened to lily’s eyes whilst being groomed, my first reaction would have been get her straight to the vets. I would have appreciated their honesty and understood accidents happen. But to pack her up, ship her off injured, possibly just concerned with their bottom line makes me sick in the stomach!"

"DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! I brought my dog in for a groom in january and it will be the last time i visit this place. It seems the same unfortunate experience has happened to a few others... i picked up my pooch and he was constantly rubbing his eye straight after pickup, i thought nothing of it, then as the day went on his eye starting fully closing and i was left with the attached photos. i had to get him into the vet that night as he was in extreme pain. $180 out of pocket for medication to treat the eye area. called the next day and spoke to the actual owner of this business as i was told from one of the groomers that i would be reimbursed for vet costs, only for the business owner to turn around and say he needs to chase it up because it didnt sound right, to this day i never got a call back. also informed them that he gets ear infections easily and that night his ear had begun to turn red and irritated, which ended up being an ear infection and $90 more on medications to treat my helpless boy. he had also ran into the back area as my mums dog was getting groomed aswell and he got excited so i chased him and saw the dogs being washed with extremely hot water to the point where it was steaming coming out of the tap. PLEASE I BEG YOU if you are thinking of taking your dog here to be groomed, please please reconsider!!!!!!"

"My girl always comes home looking fabulous after seeing the lovely women down at the Hoppers Crossing site. I could not speak highly enough of the girls who look after my dog when I take her in for her groom, always super friendly and provide A grade results/services each and every time, I have never noticed any choppiness or been unhappy with the way they have trimmed my dog. They genuinely care about the animals which is also wonderful to see, it's always scary leaving your pet somewhere foreign but I've never felt any concern for my dogs safety while seeing The Pooch Beauty Salon in Hoppers Crossing, it's also no longer a foreign place for my dog, and she enjoys seeing the girls!"
