"Atmosphere was amazing, mood lighting, very romantic. We had live music coming from upstairs for the first part of the evening. Food didn’t quite live up to our expectations, we had a big group so we had a variety of dishes. Entree: Steak tartare - 5/5 Escargot - 3/5 flavour felt a bit bland Duck liver parfait - 5/5 best out of the three Main: Duck pie - 5/5 Lamb shank - 2/5 meat was very dry & bland, sauce & kūmara were good Hanger steak - 2/5 cut of meat was very tough even at medium rare Dessert: Crème brûlée - 3/5 Miniature dessert platter - 2/5"

"We recently held an event upstairs at the Salon at Claire's, and it could not have been more perfect. At every stage of the planning Marc and the team went above and beyond to make things easy for us and make sure our night was beautiful. The whole restaurant is beautiful, and the team helped us set up our own flowers and decorations. The salon upstairs really does feel like a beautiful and warm French bar, your own little home for the evening with a truly intimate ambience. The food was all delicious, and came out quickly - very impressive for a group of 31 people. The centrepiece was the croquembouche, which was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked. There were plenty of options, and plenty for our guests with dietary requirements - including things we'd overlooked like desserts. All our guests raved about the food over the next few days. On the night, Marc and the staff made all our guests feel welcome and helped us run all the formalities - far more service than we expected, and very very much appreciated. Everyone at Claire's was kind, friendly, warm, and funny, and made all of us feel so at home. It was one of the happiest nights of our life, and Claire's made it so easy and beautiful for us."

"Excellent French food in a fine dining setting that still feels comfortable and welcoming. Food is very good and reasonably priced given the high quality but could certainly get out of hand with wine. The wait staff are good with a little bit of attitude but not in a stuck up way. Drinks menu is extensive and high quality. I'd like to come back for a show - especially for someone Like Carlotta who is performing soon."
