"I’m not usually the one to bring businesses down but this one had to happen as we left feeling totally ripped off. We arrived for lunch at 12, when the restaurant was supposed to be open. There were a lot of people working in the kitchen inside but no one care to come out and tell the 3 families that were waiting that they were completely late to open the business. We didn’t let this bum us down, but when the food came, is was impossible to eat. Coxinha came cold on the inside and the dough was very very thick. Pastel wasn’t made of the right dough, it was hard and tasted gross. Meat he no seasoning or taste whatsoever. We had one bite of the meat one , and one bite of the cheese one and left 3 on the table. We thought about ordering a meal but were so disappointed. We didn’t want to risk it. Left the place to go to another restaurant. Very frustrating and disappointing experience overall. DO NOT RECOMMEND!"
"My first time to dine here. The staff was friendly and engaging. The place is spacious, cool and relaxing with Brazilian music. I really wanted the cassava fries as it was my childhood fav snack. I think it’s a bit dry for my liking although enjoyable. Understandable as it’s very hard to get a fresh cassava in Australia, maybe none. Most of cassava is imported frozen. The special of the day is grilled chicken or rump steak for $16, comes with rice, red bean soup/sauce, something looks like almond meal and a cup of salsa. It’s a bargain deal. I like the bean with rice, it’s complementing each other. Rump steak made to your liking of rare, medium and well done. I did like the Brazilian beer. It was light and refreshing, perfect for summer weather. Overall I spent $35 for those. I’d likely come back to try other dishes next time. Honestly I’m not familiar with Brazilian food."
"Good things: - yummy food! - really nice and clean place ! - very good portion size Bad things: - staff were a bit stand offish (not actively engaging with us)."
"BROTHERS GRILL BRAZILIAN RESTAURANT & STEAK HOUSE, MAROUBRA Situated in Maroubra lies @brothersgrillbr , a Brazilian restaurant serving various dishes from small bites to mains with a decent-sized portion to them. This was my first time experiencing Brazilian food so I had no idea what to expect flavour-wise. ☆ FEIJOADA ($26.50) A stew of Black Beans cooked down with Smoked Chorizo, Smoked Bacon, and Smoked Pork Ribs. This is served with Rice, Steamed Greens, Farofa (Toasted Cassava Flour), and fresh Orange Segments. I would describe Feijoada as a hearty stew that is rich in flavour from all the meats incorporated into it as the stew has been simmering slow and low for a long time in order to develop its flavour. The Feijoada on its own is slightly salty and smokey in its flavour profile but it is offset by the White Rice, Farofa, and Fresh Orange Segments which help toned down its strong flavours. ☆ SHARED PLATE OF RUMP CAP (PICANHA) ($23.50) Diced into cubes, it has been grilled with Onions and topped with Pickled Peppers and garnished with fresh herbs. The meat was slightly overcooked and some of the pieces were oversalted, which shows that there was an uneven distribution of seasoning on the cut of beef, making the dish not that well received by my palate. Definitely, get an order of Cassava Fries with your plate though as they have been topped with Parmesan Cheese and Olives. I kept coming back for more of the Cassava Fries from this shared plate as they had a lovely crispy texture with soft potato-like insides. ☆ PAO DE QUEIJO (CHEESE BREAD) (5 PIECES) ($10) I have been meaning to try Brazilian Cheese Bread ever since coming across it via Food Safari on TV. There was a soapy-like flavour for the aftertaste of the pieces of Brazilian Cheese Bread I had which could mean that there was too much baking powder added to the dough or something went awry during the cooking process. The blend of Cheeses used has been incorporated all throughout the bread dough itself, creating a sponge-like texture that captures your attention when you pop a piece of bread into your mouth."
