"From the moment I stepped into this restaurant, I was completely enchanted by the elegant ambience and welcoming atmosphere that promised an authentic Japanese dining experience. This place has truly brought a piece of Japan to our neighbourhood. The menu, an impressive array of classic Japanese dishes, and inventive culinary creations excited me from the get-go. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh and artfully presented, each piece an exciting burst of flavours, an ode to the chef's remarkable attention to detail and mastery over the craft. The sashimi platter, featuring the day's catch, was another highlight - every slice was succulent, fresh, and meltingly tender. What truly stole my heart, however, was their rolls and rice. Each roll and rice is crafted with the utmost precision and care, creating food and edible artistry. The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite, with the fish sourced locally and delivered daily to ensure the highest quality. The rice is perfectly seasoned, providing a subtle tangy sweetness that perfectly complements the fresh toppings and fillings. Their range of rolls is impressive, catering to all palates. The classic California Roll and their signature Kuru Roll are always satisfying, taking the experience to another level. They are inventive yet balanced, delivering a melange of flavours and textures that surprise and delight in every bite. In terms of beverages, their hot Hakushika Junmai sake was good. The staff were attentive and helpful, providing the dishes we ordered. Their bright smiles are truly the sunshine of this place. They bring warmth to every guest's experience and make our visits so much more pleasant. Keep lighting up the room with your wonderful smiles! My visit to this Japanese restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. It's a symphony of authentic flavours, exceptional service, and a delightful atmosphere. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply want to experience a high-quality dining adventure, this is the place you must visit. Can't wait to return and try out more of their offerings! Five stars well deserved!"
"A rather disappointing dining experience for a place rated 4.5 stars with nearly 300 reviews. We got the 2 person banquet for 2 people priced at $65 each. Short summary: Suntory Black is good. Food is lackluster. Starters: Why are you serving these on those miniature shopping trolleys? Do I need to be reminded of walking through the fruit and vege section at Coles while I eat a relatively expensive meal? Luckily you can't screw up edadame beans. The soft shell crab was fried well but nothing special. Miso soup: Nothing much to say here. Why is the tofu all smashed to pieces? Sashimi + Sushi: kingfish and scallop was fresh. Other fish was not. Disappointed. Mains: Pork Chop had good flavour and was tender. Probably the best dish of the night. Portion was small, maybe include some rice? We had to ask for some separately. Wagyu Steak was a good portion size and was cooked well. Not sure what happened to the flavour of the steak though, didn't have much beef flavour and did you forget that salt exists? Dessert: chose green tea and black sesame ice cream. Got green tea and what seemed to be the result of 1 scoop of black sesame ice cream mixed with 99 scoops of vanilla which was then portioned to us."
"They serve really good Pork Katsu Omurice - crispy coating with tender and juice pork fillet. Yummy! The portion and price are pretty decent too. The assorted sashimi platter is more on the pricey side compared to other restaurants but most importantly they are fresh. Pretty impressed with the quality of the food and friendly staff given that there are not many nice restaurants in St Leonard’s."
"A much welcomed new find for fresh and modern Japanese cuisine! Friendly and efficient service coupled with good quality sashimi platter, fresh crunchy soft shell crab roll, delicate black cod and tasty eel omelette fried rice! We hope to be back again soon!"
"Great atmosphere and food was pretty good with decent portion. The best dish was Eel Omellete. There was a bit of waiting time from one dish to another, especially for the assorted tempura, it came very last with a huge gap from previous dish. The service definitely could be improved, but overall it was a nice experience."
